Another 100+ degree day. Lovely. Going to remove the bicycle fork mounts on the tool box and replace with Roam case mounts. Just need this kidney to sell on the black market. But it all lines up nicely. Oh and also planning to move the chainsaw up a few inches. Basically tucking up the top of the rack. Ordered some more aluminum to do this.

After many months I finally got my Wits End air coupler pacifiers in. They had some delays with anodizing. But I like these better than the rubber flap cover I had on there to prevent mud and grime from getting into the air fitting. Added some 500lb stainless leader line to prevent me from misplacing them.

Replacing the 15 watt Midland MXT275 GMRS radio with the 50 watt MXT 575 unit along with the optional MXMC01 noise cancelling mic. I was hoping the base units would be similar in size but not even close. Might mount the new one under a seat since I have an external speaker as well as the speaker in the hand unit.
Can you get measurements of how large the 575 is? I am debating upgrading the radio in my 4R and putting the current 275 on the base camp trailer.

575 measures 5 1/2” wide, 6 3/4” long and 1 1/2” tall. Compared to 275 at 4 1/4” wide, 4 1/4” long and about 1” tall. I am also planning to put the old one in my trailer. Also got a Kenwood 2m for it.

Rear seat overhead molle panel has some stuff. Black rip away pouch on the passenger side is the "shit kit".. I need to get a Velcro patch for it. RipAway on drivers side is just holding from rubber gloves to give it some volume so I can figure out what I want in it.. it does have a knife mounted to it. Molle panel fire ext mount could be better, the piece that is on the backside is a bit small IMO... would be nice if it was larger. But it works.

Built my own headrest fire extinguisher mount. Used some shaft collars, some 1.5" long aluminum standoff bushings, and some 1/4-20 x 2" screws with a 2 piece QD fire extinguisher holder. I have enough stuff (minus the QD holder) to built 3 more. So if I don't like the one mounted on the molle panel above I might move that to the passenger side headrest. Just some test grabs but it is very easy to get to and seems extremely sturdy.
I like that setup. I need to find a good mounting position in my 4Runner for my small fire extinguisher.
Looks great! But hopefully the seat belt stops the passenger from slamming their head into if you get into an accident.

Putting some light on the swing out table. Dunegear.com micro lights. Bright little dudes. Plan to run the wiring through the tubing and have an on/off switch in the upright for the spare tire.
That's pretty sweet! Ton of light output in a tiny package.

Got the wires ran through the tubing, used some black silicone adhesive to seal up the holes and provide a little extra so the M4 stainless bolts don't vibrate out. Used 2 layers of heatshrink and some silicone where the wires come out of the tube to prevent chaffing. Hope to get the switch panel installed, or at least party of it installed this evening.

KInda where the panel will be mounted. Since I have the space I think I'll add a second USB power port and a switch to control the power going to the whole thing.

Progress was made... its not wired into the rear battery box just yet. Used a Milwaukee M12 for testing. But it works pretty slick. Switch on the bottom is master switch, it has to be on to power the panel. It feeds a 12v relay and 30A fuse. That feeds a circuit for the 12v power outlets, a circuit for the USB outlets, and one for the top switch which is for the table lights. Its all grommeted and silicone'd, I do need to remove the excess silicone once its dry... made a tiny mess. The "Street light" plugs into the top 12v outlet nicely. Bottom 12v is setup so I can plug in the Ecoflow and recharge it if need be. USB are in the middle and allow phones/whatever to be charged while sitting on the tailgate or fold down table.
Thanks for putting this in! It's made charging my phone so much easier with a 15' USB-C cable to my bed.
