Are those cans ment to be stored laying on their sides?

Nope. Not supposed to have gas touching the seal

I disagree. They sell carriers to lay them on their side and I've seen plenty of pics with them on their side. Also, I have kept it on its side before. I just think the gasket is taking a crap.

Didn't think so, that would be why I've never seen them laying like that.

Man there's no way to keep the gas from leaking out the liquid is touching the gasket. Especially with the pressure that build in those things in the sun.

And that goes double for that answer!!!

Do they make viton seals for that?

Or in some neighborhoods it's Louis Viton!

I'm telling ya.. I've seen them on many vehicles mounted this way. Not to mention I've kept them that way before. I agree the pressure can be high, I've seen mine bulge out considerably. But they sell carriers to keep them on their backs.

Sure they sell them, but your can is cheaper than the traditional design and will leak if stored on its side. I guess we'll see once you've replaced the seals.

I've seen plenty of guys in the desert with similar can holders or rigged up in their roof racks too.

Thats where I say its just a faulty gasket because I've stored it on its back many times. Its not the design of the can.

As for being a cheaper can... yeah, its $8 less.

Sorry man, I just think its a bad gasket. Maybe I'm wrong.. won't be the first time. :) But if that can turns out to be shit I'm going to try a Wedco from AT.
