Yeah, I said it before, best to have another job in hand before quitting the one you have right now. Especially now, with todays economy, not the best time to walk away from something, no matter how shitty. Just suck it up and find something else. Then tell them to get fucked... and use those terms.

ain't no one talking me into staying this time. Guy basically kicked my dog, told me my wife and baby were ugly, then stole my 10mm sockets. Lucky I didn't punch him in the face the way he is talking....was also on the phone so that would be impossible lol

but I'm going to create a app that does that and become the next Bezos

even if I need to take a crappy job at half my pay I can still pay my bills. Bought this house 16 years ago when I was making nada. Currently owe less than 50k and really have no other bills besides utilities. Cable contract is up in October so that cords being cut then - they want $230 for early contract canceling fee so worth it to just ride it out for another couple months then cut.

I should of left last month, but got greedy. What really did it was talking to family and them telling me how much Ive changed for the worst the past few years. Ive gotta stop the negativity before it does any more damage.

I completely understand, unending stress/heart disease is not forgiving to the body.

You will find a better line, the trail doesn’t end in 2 weeks, the trail continues and your the one that determines the path of least resistance with the best scenery. Good luck brother!

Thanks, thats my thinking as well. Going to use the lack of incoming funds to help motivate me to quit smoking again. Told myself that today's pack is the last pack - see how that works out when I have some beers tonight lol Did it for over 7 months last year so I know I can do it.

First time in prob 2 decades I'm less than 200# for more than a week's time so no better time to double down on health and fiscal conservation.

Worst case I have a great deal of parts/truck/etc that I could sell off and multiple 401k's that if I needed to I could withdraw funds from under hardship status. Thats worst worst case plan F after plans A-D lol

use of glass so you can see the difference in the mortar was pretty darn cool.

floor not being out more than 1/4" over 10' never happens in high rises. All their slabs sag and the high spots are near the structural columns. Not strange to see floors out 2" in them.

Come to think of it - I don't think Ive ever installed tile correctly after watching that. Pretty sure I always swirled. Learn something new every day

That's the main reason I posted it. Really helped me to understand why they do it that way. Tile is the one trade I refuse to learn since the labor is so cheap if you buy the tile yourself.

My manager told the owner this morning so I got to skip that BS. Now the owner is so pissed he won't even look at me. Better than being yelled at I guess. Going to be a long two weeks

That's Mr Asshole to you
Good luck. Maybe he will pay you out on your 2 weeks after today and you can move on.

Doubtful, but thats what the last place basically did. I could work the next 2 years and still not be caught up at this place it's so screwed up. I can say that not really caring what happens at my current company is a HUGE weight off my shoulders. I was ordering materials today that won't show up until Sept/Oct and normally I'd triple check everything - instead I only double checked and said to myself "not my problem if somethings screwed up". So much nicer than worrying about that order for the months before it gets installed. Being in a constant state of worry has not done me any good so I'm glad that weight is gone.

Last job I gave them 4 weeks and was done catching up on week 2 then made a massive sale for them and the boss told me to take off and enjoy some extra time between jobs. This boss is nothing like that. I'm sure my current boss is super pissed that I negotiated my commission to be quarterly vs yearly and the day the money hit my account I gave my notice again lol

Big meeting this morning at work. I get officially introduced in my new position to the top people I will be working with. Everything is about to get busy for a while. I am stepping in with two projects to get back on track, one project I am starting from scratch, and working with the different businesses on next year's security initiatives.

Thanks, the meeting went well and my work load just tripled for a while. I am happy that my director is very adamant that I do not let anyone try to take up all my time. I am supposed to make sure that all groups are getting equal progress.

Now I get to step forward and raise the bar.

Thanks, it was a blur of a day but I think I did okay. I know my work tempo is about to pick up a good bit for a while. Hopefully the position justifies a full time slot sooner than later so I can make a good argument for the big two bracket raise. With any luck I will be in the righy bracket to get a nice next gen Tundra. :)
