While in the back of the trailer trying to figure out how to get the side light wires out of the box and underneath and then back to the front I got distracted (Squirrel!!!... Where???) and mounted a D cell LED Maglite to the door. Not the brightest flashlight I own but they are dependable.

Oh and I think I figured out how I am getting these wires out of the box... fuck it... drilling a big hole down low on the passenger side and using a waterproof grommet seal (already using them in other places) and have it run down the side of the trailer between the side box door and the fender... Will encase the wire in something strong to protect it from the elements as best as possible.

Grommet dealio's I'm using

Ok...
Started back on it.

Tongue reinforcement brackets installed.

Second jockey wheel installed. I did not have the greatest confidence in the jockey wheel it came with. It was fine at lower altitudes but when I cranked it up to connect and disconnect it just felt.. shitty. So instead of lugging around a jack stand I welded on another jockey wheel mount and added the same style jack but with a flat base and not the wheel.

Raised up the tent base a couple inches.. just low enough to get out of the garage.

Pinned the awning where I want it. Going to get it finished up here shortly.

Pulled all the electrical out of the tongue box (except for the shore power charger). I need to find all the shit I've collected for wiring this bitch up and get that going.

Need to get the wiring for the baja design side works lights up the front of the trailer for connection to the switch panel. That's really my main goal for the rest of today... get that wiring ran.

Are those real BD lights or knock offs? Looking good. Now when is the trip to Moab or DV planned? :)

Real BD's. Work light pattern. Put them down low to not blind folks.

I wish.. one of these years. I'll settle to just get it back out in Texas somewhere for now.

Oh and I would like to get a few more for up high, facing front and rear. But I don't really need them as the garage has plenty of light and that, sadly, has been its favorite spot lately. :(

Matter of fact I just realized the tags are out by 9 months. LOL.. May of 2018. So I can't renew tags online, have to go into the tax appraisers office or whatever its called to get the new sticker. Wife said she would do it... man she is awesome. :b1:

Just make sure you use it as I would hate to see those lights be sold on the trailer 10 years from now and only go out a few times. And don't get me wrong, I have only been out once this year and it was for 24 hours.

So we are taking it out for a 1 or 2 night trip this weekend. Weather is supposed to be chilly (lows around 40 with highs around 60). Not doing anything crazy, just a trip out to the back acres on the farm. Its nice, lots of woods and a creek. Anyhow, wanted the lights working again so I quickly threw a group 65 AGM battery in the trailer, hooked everything up (its not a very pretty wiring job but it will work for now) and even managed to get the side utility lights working. Now the controller looks like a LOT of green and it is. The labels are not in place. Need to get the wife to break out her Cricket vinyl cutter and make me some labels. Right now I am only using 2 channels.. but can see using more as time goes on. One thing I did not get to do was work on the driver side window spring bows.. with the awning in place they cannot make contact with their mounting holes in the tent base. My plan was to weld a couple little tube sections to the top of the awning mounts and then cut two of the spring bows down so they make are inserted into there. Figure this trip will let me figure all that crap out. Upside is now that its loaded (and not really loaded all out) I can probably raise the tent another 2 inches and still get in the garage. Not fucking with that tonight though.

What pisses me off is that I am bringing the annex room and was planning to bring my Mr Buddy propane heater but I can not find the damn thing. Granted its been years since I used it last. Its MIA. Fuck.

Wait... you only have one Mr Buddy heater? I figured you would have two at least. One ordered by sober Sean and the other by Drunk Sean.

If I camped when it was colder then maybe... but as it is the one I had was never used. Until I wanted to use it.

I only use the heater when I have my sammich maker. Otherwise the Mexican blankets and down big bertha or whatever my bag is called. :) Plus, now that I have a dog, she's a good heater too. :)

Well we will see how it goes, I may have to get another one.

We have good bags, all Big Agnes, but its the cold air she will be breathing. I am bringing the new pup as well.. he can help keep her warm. Plus, the farm house is 1/2 mile away. :( I won't be in it.. but they might be. Not the dog though. He's my little buddy.

I have one OG blanket I "procured" while active duty in Alaska and a second I bought off the web. If we do more cold weather camping those are a nice option. Everything they sell is top notch. I still want to buy one or two of their tarps.

Looks like I may be a day late and a dollar short. They no longer have the tarps on their website. @bakerla those are the brand of tarp you have correct?
