So the only thing I do not care for with the 6.5 Grendel is that needs non-standard AR15 magazines to run properly. So I ordered two 10 round magazines for the setup since it is going to be a low volume rifle. Now I have to keep an eye out for a couple 5 round mags as well.

It uses 6.8 mags right? I really like my PRI 6.8 mags. I have three 10s and three 5s I believe

Find a source the blue followers, buy in bulk and we split up the order

@Taco Loco I planned to go through the magazines and see what made them so different from standard AR mags. Some people say it is just the follower, others say the best 6.5G mags have a ribs towards the front of the round that come in further to keep the ammo lined up better. Will see in a few days.

What you'll start to see if the actual tip of the 6.5G will start to rub the front of the mag as the bullets feed through. They use damn near every thou of space for the length. I saw this in person by looking at the AR mags of the two guys shooting the 6.5G, you can see a little brass line that runs all the way down the mag.

Hmmm will have to check that and see what a good solution is. If it is even a deal breaker; there are lots of guys posting subMOA out of AR setups with the 6.5G

Oh this was also due to the guys reloading the bullet a little longer too. They both hand loaded their own stuff. I'm sure factory ammo is GTG.

Yeah - that sounds right. Sounds like they were going for +100% case fills or trying to shorten the jump to the rifling. I am all for better numbers but when it starts to become a fitment issue you really have to decide if it is worth it. Although I have seen where guys hot loading the 6.5G are getting numbers damn close to the 6.5 Creedmoor soooo.....

According to those guys it was worth it lol but one had a 24" barrel and the other a 26" barrel IIRC

I read on one the forums that the 6.5gen ammo works great with some of the older metal c products type mags vs plastic mags, I just happened to know someone with lots of those metal mags, just need to change the followers.

Yep, that's what those guys were using. The old Aluminum GI mags with a different follower.

If it makes it to SCOTUS it will die. They are broadening the idea of a machine gun and not allowing for the previously example for the practice of reclassifying a device that was previously legal.

If my state can make me a felon for having a Y shaped twig with some rubber bands on it, I wouldn't be so sure they don't go through with this one. I also remember Trump calling for it specifically so it would go against what he has said publicly.

V seven weapons system upper and 16" Rainier Ultra Match barrel with adjustable gas block is in the mail! This will be my new 3Gun/Precision .223 upper.

Also had to order a Scalarworks RMR mount for my new Holosun sight. I know it's a QD mount but I plan on not moving it around. It's the lightest weight optic mount on the market and it's supposed to be a really tough mount.

Curious to see where it goes on the Federal level though. A lot of states will not take this lightly.
