So I know a few of you are pretty serious about brewing beer, but have any off you ventured into turning your wort into something stronger?
What do you mean? If I want a stronger beer I just brew a higher gravity beer. I am thinking about getting setup to purify my own water. I am currently comparing using a regular charcoal filter or going with a distillation setup.

So more along the lines of "hardening" a drink? There is a completely legal method per the government agency that regulates those things. That process is where you take the fermented wort (now officially beer because it contains alcohol) and freeze it. The water freezes and the alcohol moves to the middle. You remove the middle and let it freeze again, repeat till you are pulling water.
That other process that is highly illegal I study for entertainment purposes only. Kind of the way the Sean studies rape p0 rn.

I have been studying for a while now, but my interest is peaked and I was just wondering if anyone had messed with it before. Never thought about the freezing though.
Best not to post any intentions of or interests in distillation on the interwebz... though there are alot of online resources with the type of information a prospective distiller might find useful.
