At least you are working in the shade! That should look real nice with grass in there.
I get to pay for labor on repairing my water heater. One of them took a shit. I can do it myself and buy the part ($250) or I can use the warranty and pay for labor ($100). No option to give me the part and me do the labor. Yeah me. At least the guy came out the same day and he can knock it out quick.
It was a Honeywell gas control valve. What sucks is that my system connects both water heaters together (thats good) so he had to turn off the pilot light on the "good" one for some reason and when he went to relight it... it too a bit! Not like it probably should have. It was too the point were he was about to have to reschedule another service call to replace it. So.. I would not doubt a second gas control valve replacement in my future.
Also, I have a whole home water filter.. so sediment is at a minimum. But the guy said not to drain it.. but to flush it. Same principle you just let it fill up as you drain it. The fill line will actually 'disturb' the sediment and help flush it out. Or so he said. Sounded good. LOL
Right you can do that as well. Just hook a garden hose and fish it outside to drain it.
Considering I have had the same water heater since I built this house 8 years ago I guess I should probably flush the thing at some point. How many beers should it take?
