Makes sense.

People are too close together and disease spreads rapidly.

"What would be a good business strategy?"

"Let's build condos and townhomes so that people can live closer to their neighbors."

So silly....freaking sheeple. Ive got developments of condo's and apartments popping up all over near me due to being in the burbs of Philly. All the ones over here are on bad land like old dumps, under high tension power lines, super fund sites, etc. because everything else is already developed.
Yep same here. They are developing fields that are right next to storage tanks for the chemical plants. Fields that have been used as farmland for decades as fallout/blast room for when something happens. The best part is they are charging $350k+ for these houses right next to the plants too and these sheeple buy them.

There's a huge landfill in south houston that has been there for decades. Well they built a subdivision and then the home owners association tried to sue the landfill for smell and noise after the people moved in! Fucking hilarious.

And it's the same thing with the subdivisions by addicks resivior that flooded driving Harvey when they opened the gates. The city of Katy tried to sue the city of Houston for opening the floodgates but the city of Houston came back and said who allowed them to build subdivisions on land owned by the city of Houston. Well it turned out that the city of Katy has been allowing people to build on the city of Houston's land! lol

Spent the afternoon in my Tyvec suit laying in mouse turds and insulation down in my crawl space under my addition.

Spent the past two nights sleeping in the master bedroom for the first time ever and it got cold at night (addition is master bedroom/bath/walk in closet). Today I checked temps in each room and it was 4* cooler so I began digging.

No idea when it happened but one of the ducts fell out so I have been heating/cooling an open crawl space then having my return suck in cold/hot air from the hole. I can see the $$$$$ blowing out the vents

Does it really take that much more time to snip the ends of the supply line, smash them down so they create a flange, then screwing them to the floor? Or how about screwing the actual duct work to itself and adding a strap or two? lol freaking morons.

Ill put that all back together tomorrow, add screws, and add straps. Lines are also un-insulated so Ill grab that first thing tomorrow then take another turd bath before I clean it all out in the end.

It is that last 10% of effort that so many contractors just do not give a damn to do. At the same time it is that 10% that makes all the difference between good enough and great. Those kind of details make all the difference.

I ended up fixing it last night. I couldn't let it sit another night with it heating the outdoors.

Got down to the teens last night and now the room drops 1 degree less than the thermostat and goes 1 degree over when cycling heat so thats good enough for me.

Ended up finding a roll of insulated flex duct in my basement that I had left over from the master bathroom vent fan install years ago. I removed the flex liner and used the insulation & jacket over the existing sheetmetal ductwork then screwed/taped it all up. No need for a strap once it was screwed in. Pipes less than 3'. I did have to go get some self tappers though. Ironic that I used to buy them by the tens of thousands at work and never borrowed any for home use. Also grabbed a T50 stapler. Been borrowing my moms for a decade and she needed it back for some reupholstering.

Got my storm door back up. Gave the frame the mothers three step process cause she was getting a little faded after 15 years & painted the brass black.

Was giving the paint some time to cure, but I needed to get my permit posted and all my other windows on that side are going by by so today was the day.

Now I can paint the door on a rainy day. Can't wait to start ripping this ugly siding off next week to see what surprises Ill find. The sillplate for the doors coming out thats fir sure. Ill cap some new PT wood then put it back in place so it's the actual right size. That was all existing junk. Only thing staying is the brickmold & doors.

I need to have a garage sale. Things I have just way too many of. Like how many sets of wrench’s does one person need? I’m guessing 25 is too many. LOL.

You know a guy willing to help that problem lol

Make sure to post up here. I only have 3 sets which I feel like is not enough.

I will bring your wrench set back when I make my trip down there.

always call your subs and friends the day prior to confirm. holy molly did my day tomorrow almost implode.

Plan was to meet a buddy and his son at lumber store at 7am, load up his car trailer full of long items & plywood, go to my house, demo siding/insulation/plywood/window/door, replace insulation/plywood, put on tyvek, go to my buddy's house for dinner then call it a day. Trailer was to come with two extension ladders w/jacks + one painters pick to stretch the gap.

Shit happens in construction so the plan "now" is to meet just him at 11am to grab materials then park them at my house.

Ladders never made it home from his job site so now I need to borrow my neighbors (he doesn't have jacks or picks) and get some labor help ASAP.

I know I could hang the sheets myself, but help would be a thousand times safer/more efficient specially 15' in the air on a ladder.

No idea how the plans got all confused, but it wasn't on my side.

Whatcha gonna do when the guy helping is a childhood friend running around and helping for free days before the holidays. We have been helping each others families out for decades. Just glad I called to confirm. Now to pivot the plans/schedule and find a location for all the materials now that they need storage vs immediate install.

arghhh....delayed again. One of his workers got a skid steer stuck in mud and he needs to drive down the shore to get it unstuck...ETA now 1pm.

Should of just rented a Penske high walled sprinter for the week like I wanted to through AAA. Already had it quoted and ready to go but my buddy's wife talked me out of it. "You help us so much we got you".... "Ill cook dinner after"...

Not too many days aboev freezing temps these days so kinda pissed. Could of had my deck pressure washed if I had planned for the delays better. Such is life. Always had plan B, C, and D for work. For home I make one crappy plan lol
