My window busted the other week, presumably due to a stress crack as the screen was in tact. Called up Anderson and turns out they have a 20 year limited transferable warranty. They sent me out a replacement sash I just had to swap the hardware over, saved me about $250! Did the swap tonight when it was cooler out. Now I have a spare sash if I ever need it I’ll just have to get the one pane replaced.

My BIL gave me his old Weber grill as a housewarming present. It's been converted over to natural gas already so that saves me a lot of money there as well. Came with a cover and a bunch of accessories (my BIL loves to cook and grill as it's his hobby).

He also gave me a bunch of nice gym floor squares that click together as well!

Woke up this morning to a broken garage door spring. Luckily my dads cousin owns an overhead door company so he’s coming by tomorrow to get the specs to order what we need to go from one spring to two springs. Said my 16’ door should have never had the “contractors special” single spring setup.

Did that a while back. Went from a single 2"ID, 0.25" wire 30" long to a dual 2" ID, 0.207" wire, 24" long

Garage door is fixed. Got some springs that will be able to handle the weight of insulation whenever I decide to get around to doing that. They will just have to have another half to full turn put on them. I’ll probably just have him get me the 2” insulation kit for my door and install it and adjust the springs when the time comes.

Just replaced a bunch of hinges with ball bearing hinges. Makes a little bit of a difference in feel when you open and close the door. I ordered more of them to replace the rest of the hinges on the doors that matter and the front door.

I have been looking at replacing outside, garage, and certain door hinges with the spring close hinges. The idea is to ensure certain doors stay closed even if people do not close them like they should.

Yeah my garage door (that goes into the house) is on self-close hinges as it's required to be by code.

Another nice benefit of the ball bearing hinges is if you have a door that closes or opens itself bc of a cock-eyed frame, the ball bearing hinges will keep it in place. I was having an issue with my master bedroom door closing itself and the new hinges corrected that issue.

Our garage door is on the self-close hinges as well. I disabled it though.

I have several doors I need to replace now that the foundation has been leveled. The door from the garage to laundry room, all three bedroom doors, and two closet doors. Will probably go ahead and replace all the doors though so they’ll be the same style. Thought the leveling would even them out but it appears the doors were changed out some time after the foundation started sinking because they’re way the fuck off now that everything is back to level.

Gate opener is finally in! I can control it from my phone as well which is nice.

I got the yard mowed and hooked up the Weber grill to the natural gas outlet so we can grill now!
