Oh I need to go look at our fence.. it was pretty bad in some places. I haven't even looked outside today.

I’ve been trying to get in touch with the people whine us for months about the fence with no luck. All their hackberries, vines, and bullshit weed plants have destroyed that fence. I can’t believe only one panel blew down. The side fence was actually in decent shape. Kind of surprised it blew over.

Got the panel on the back fence braced up with a couple of 2x4s until I can get in touch with the homeowner back there. Picking up a couple of 16’x50” cattle panels from TSC to make a temporary fence so the dogs can’t get in the neighbors backyard where the other fence is down.

Glad I went metal roof over shingles for that reason. That wind was still whipping ass at my place this morning. Only damage I saw was tree limbs down on my road.

Got a new water line dug in for the rent house I used to live in. My neighbor has a trencher and he let me borrow it. Five mins of trenching and an hour to get under the walkway lol I'm beat. The mosquitoes are so freaking bad despite the cold.

That's where I live!

And I've never seen them this bad and this aggressive before. It's unreal

Many years ago I was stationed in Alaska at a site 90 miles south the Artic circle. I got there in Feb, the temps were around -30, no bugs. They issued me a head net. It came in handy a few month later.

I've always heard that they are horrendous up there.

When I went fishing in Alaska and again on a cruise, they were just big, fat, & slow mosquitoes that were easy to kill. So it wasn't too bad for me there and they weren't as aggressive as the ones we've been dealing with lately.

When I leave my driveway, I have mosquitoes slamming themselves against my car window trying to get in. It's nuts.

So I bought a new dishwasher, it was to be installed on Saturday. Guys showed up to replace it. But the ball valve under the sink would not stop the water flow so they could replace it. They left the dishwasher in the garage and said once I got that valve replaced they would come replace it and haul the old one away (haul away was my main goal.. $25 for HD to haul away or I spend $36+ to do it). Anyhow I decided to take a look at the ball valve and do it myself. I ended up looking for my water shut off in the yard near the road. Appeared it was under a fucking bush that has grown sustainably over the years. I was trying to stick my head into the bush (don't all guys do that?), the bush was on my right side, I was sticking my head in there and I put my left hand down to get some leverage... a few moments later.. OUCH! I put it down dead center of a fire ant mound. That was yesterday, arm/hand was swollen and bumpy. Today its got the zit like wounds. I think I can count about 70 of them. Today I went out and stirred the mound with a boot and dumped Amdro on the assholes. Nothing can be simple/easy these days. Always a catch.

Pretty much sums up how I feel lately. A 10 min project ends up taking an hour, 30 min project ends up taking a half day, etc...

I had the holiday off yesterday and my kiddos went over to my mom's for the day so that allowed me to get a ton of work done.

I got the upper cabinets new light band installed, got the lower cabinets and countertop installed. Filled em up with my tools & junk.

I got this Ikea shelf system installed and the stainless cabinet hung. The middle drawer is all of my shop rags + micro fiber towels. The bottom drawer is for dirty rags that need to get washed.

And I got these new-to-me cabinets installed. I'll finish putting the shelves in and hanging the glass cabinet doors today when I get home from work. I have a ton of stuff to put in these cabinets so I can free up ground space in my garage.

Looking good, where is your panel deadfront? I assume it was only off for the cabinet hanging ⚡⚡
Oh it's off to the side. I was looking for a wire that wasn't connected the other day and just didn't get around to re-mounting it. I'm actually glad I didn't, because I found out I have a large air leak coming through the exterior electrical disconnect pipe to the interior electrical panel. The wind is HOWLING through that little pipe, so once it warms up, I'm gonna seal it with some fire foam. I don't think I would've noticed that if I had the dead front on. The exterior disconnect is on the north side of the house so it's understandable that there's an air leak there.

Getting the fence on the side of our yard put back up either tomorrow or Friday. Neighbor was trying to get a whole new fence through insurance but didn’t realize how much his deductible was so he instead had a guy come look at just putting up the part that blew over. Said $500 for new posts so we’re splitting it. Most of the panels are in good shape still so it should be alright until he does replace the whole thing. That side of our yard is unused so as long as it keeps our dogs in I don’t really care if it’s not perfect for a little while until it’s replaced. Still can’t get hold of the people behind me to see about getting that fence replaced.

Throw a rock through their back window. When they show up to replace it ask them about the fence.
