i would not mind if they burrow out in the field or in the woods, there’s plenty of wildlife for them to eat elsewhere that ain’t mine lol

I am the same way with armadillos. I have no issue with them as long as they are not digging at the foundation of my house I do not care. Once they are digging there I break out the quiet problem solvers.

Power went out last night for a few hours (some dumbass hit a power pole in the area), well now the Bosch fridge in our mudroom isn't working so well. Thing is about 17 years old and it was $3k when it was new, I'd like it to keep working but the freezer part is not freezing at the moment. I pulled everything out of the freezer and put it in my Iceco and ARB fridges (both set down to 0) but the ARB is struggling to get there.. currently at 31. I just spent $2k on a dishwasher a few months back and I really don't want to buy any more appliances. Fingers crossed that unplugging and plugging back in the fridge will set it straight.

What the hell kind of dishwasher is $2k?? Did you buy one direct from the Philippines ???

Maybe the Rose Bride would have been cheaper?

Top of the line Cafe series, add in tax, haul away and install it was $2100.

Well the Bosch is dead. Just order this for the mudroom, was tempted with a Samsung that didn't have jackshit on the outside doors, just an ice maker inside. But even though it had a 4.5 star rating I just couldn't do it with all the bad experiences of people I know. Ended up just buying a GE, still $1500 after all said and done.

Oh and that install for the dishwasher paid for itself 2x... the ball valve broke, started to flood my kitchen. I had called a plumber to come fix it.. they were slated to show up the following Thursday. Well with that install price it included any repairs.. so they came out on Tuesday and fixed the ball valve, installed the new one and hauled off the old. I want to say it was $100. New fridge will be here on Saturday so that is cool. I shopped around and some places were delivery of May 8-15 or so.

Did you use Veteran 10% off?

If it's a special buy, the Veterans discount does not apply. Then just purchase through AFFES, because HD is now affiliated with them, No Tax.
$1385 is your out the door price, no extra warranty, install and haul away.

I could have got it cheaper but I didn’t want to wait 2-3 weeks.

So I borrowed my f-in-law's tractor this morning to level out some areas around the house. This afternoon I went back to mow and knock down the tall grass in a few areas. I got too close to the drainage ditch and the zero turn got stuck. I am surprised it took this long for me to get it stuck.

On the bright side I used this as a training event with the sammich maker for winch operation. I had her setup the winch controller, flip the winch from engaged to free spool so I could run the cable out, then engage it and winch up the mower. While not the way I planned to spend the day it was productive at least.

Friday after work I scraped four of my windows clean that has paint splatter on em and cleaned em outside. I caulked a few areas that were missed up high.

Today, I got most everything moved out of my garage except for my 80 gallon air compressor and garage door opener. That was a ton of work.
I also installed a bunch of hurricane straps in the rent house garage foundation because I found out I could flex the garage walls by pushing on them (they aren't insulated or sheetrocked because it's a rent house).

At my new house garage, I got the sheetrock and base cut out so I can use the small storage space underneath my stairs. Got all of the stuff from my other garage into my new garage and got a lot of it put away.

I am beat but will still work and get more stuff done tomorrow. I am throwing as much stuff away as I can that I don't need or little projects I haven't gotten too. I figure if I haven't done that project by now, I'm not going to in the future.

Well I ended up tweaking my back so I didn't get shit done on sunday lol

But on the brightside, I got to stay home to hobble around and help teach my oldest girl how to ride a bike (she got really good at it fast since she had a lot of experience riding a balance bike for the past year).

I got a bunch more knick-knack shit done last night in the garage.

I had repaired my daughters doll bed a few times but it got to the point where the wood was gone so the screw wouldn't hold. So I had my cabinet shop cut out a piece of 1-1/8" scrap and edgeband it white. I put the metal legs back on it and my daughter was so happy when she came downstairs and saw that it was fixed.

I took apart and fixed my folding DeWalt miter stand. The latch mechanism was too loose so I took it apart to get at the nylon lock nut to tighten it up so it would function again.

I found these sweet 3/4" exterior screws and got them in. I use these for shelf clips, attaching stuff to my cabinets and hanging decorations. These are nice to have on hand when you need them. I used a bunch of them last night.

I finally carved out a minute to work on my garage door opener. I got the connecting wire between the two door sensors hooked back up. The left side door wire is gone (they took it down when they were hanging sheetrock and I guess it got thrown away). So I ordered more wire online and it'll be here this weekend to hook back up. I need to get the sensors working again so I can use the fobs to open the garage door wirelessly.

Borrowed the box truck with a lift gate and a pallet jack from work to finally move my 80 gallon compressor over. I had to lift it off the concrete anchor bolts and set it down on the pallet.
Also moved over my big cabinet as well.
Glad to finally have these done. I've been dreading doing this for awhile.

I cannot tell you how much I wish I had access to a box truck with a lift gate when moving. That would have been awesome for gun safes and tool boxes.

Yeah it's definitely not fun to drive but it got the job done lol

I told my wife the next time we move, it's gonna be movers doing it and not me lol

Went into work early for a massive emergency and worked my ass off until I left early. So I had a couple of spare hours when I got home before getting my kiddos from school and got some house work done.

I got a small section of molded-out floor base and sheetrock cut out in the garage from where the waterproofing wasn't done soon enough after the tile was installed (tile guys fault). I brought home one our large Hilti HEPA air filters to help filter out the moldy smell in the garage. I'm gonna let that run 24/7 for a week and see if it helps with the smell.

Got my garage door wiring finished and programmed two new remotes, a wireless universal keypad and both Volvos to the garage door opener so now that works for the first time since we've owned the house.

Got this massive cabinet installed. Glad it's done and finished so I can start craming shit I don't want to deal with right now into it lol (I'll deal with the chainsaw oil stain later).

And swapped out the air filters in the upstairs AC unit as well.

Oh and I got a free 65" Samsung TV hung up in the downstairs playroom. It's got a nice picture but it's old enough that the native apps don't work so we'll need to get a Google TV box for it just to be able to watch stuff on it.

Well it's never a dull moment around here. My mom's house has a really bad termite infestation. They managed to hide their tunnel to the dirt so we never saw them until they came out of the floor underneath her bed. I worked a half day Friday and all day Saturday to get her floor torn up to find out the direction we think their coming in. Unfortunately, this floor is 20' up in the air due to the house design, so I have a trusted contractor coming in to start doing demo and try to find out how far they went. It could end up being really bad but time will tell.
Current plan is to find out how much damage there is without destroying everything, replace the ate out floor joists in the master bed room, and get the floor back in the master bedroom in a month before my sister and her family come in for their annual one month trip here.
I put in this subfloor and oak floor when I was in high school and I did a damn good job because it was absolute hell trying to get out the 2'x3' subfloor piece you can see by the window. My brother and I worked on it until I threw my back out and I said fuck it, it's the contractors problem now to get the rest of this subfloor out lol

The beautiful oak floor that's all ate out got thrown out the window. Broke my heart to pull all of that expensive beautiful flooring up.
