So I put a mineral lick on the wooded side of my yard and am going to put out a game cam to see if I can get pics of the deer. The poop right off my back porch makes me think they are pretty comfortable around my house now.

Been trying to catch a small group of sows at a buddy's place off and on for two months now. As luck would have it the night we did not expect anything and took his 6 yeah old son with us they showed up. Anyways I finally spilled some blood with the 6,5 Grendel.
Stand is 85 yds from the feeder and only 5 feet off the ground at the floor. The bullet went in right at the top of the shoulder and came out the opposite last rib area a few inches lower. A nice bang flop. We waited 30 mins for the others to come back but they did not.
The soft shackles came in handy dragging it yo the dry creek bed for disposal.

Nah, just sitting in my recliner, relaxing, watching TV, doorbell goes off and I see trespasser eating my deer corn, itchy finger, that's all.
He was atleast a 300lber, didn't see any blood, but that's not uncommon with that fat layer on these boars, I shot several of these big boars and they show up later in the thick South, Texas brush.

It's not often, but it was pretty foggy and shooting at 173yds, game camera will let me know, the sows/piglets don't come around these big boars.Or you missed
The local big boar is coming around again. Going to see what we can do to help him get an extended dirt nap.

Started building the first blind for the new place in Aspermont. Going to be 5x5 wooden framed blinds sheeted in 26ga flat galvalume left over from another project. Gonna get a self etching primer paint job. The box has fork pockets on it so we can use the tractor to set them on top of the towers. They'll be built out if all the scrap steel we have laying around the shop and will have stairs going up to them because fuck ladders. Fully insulated and finished out inside. Should be really nice and much cheaper than buying premade ones. But still expensive because lumber is insane right now.
