My best friend got approval from his boss to get a hunting lease to take clients out to. If anyone knows of any hunting leases within 4 hours of Houston that has a cabin (or at bare minimum, power with a sewer hookup for RV's) and greater than 50 acres please let me know.

I'm working on trying to obtain some leases near me, like 15min drive. But sometimes I think I'm adding unnecessary time/tasks to my schedule/freedom.

I can probably get a really good hog hunting place/contact, buts it's probably a bit over 4hours from the big ugly, as it's almost 1 hour west of me.

More specific into what type of hunting?


I don't have any current interest in leasing my place for hunts, but I do have a full hook RV pad, and a seperate location that has RV 30amp and water access. Potentially Im hoping to install another full hook RV location maybe later this year. Pretty decent means with an electric hoist to clean animals.


Im already thinking about dove season, . I'm gonna try and plant 1/4 acre of sunflower and milo this year for doves.
April planting for Sunflower, late May/mid June for milo.

Checked out my new hunting lease yesterday. It is 300 acres in an L shape with a pretty good diverse mix of oaks and open areas with two year round water tanks and one seasonal. I found an old game camera with an SD card in it that shows really good promise from the 2020/2021 season. Pictures of lots of 2 or 3 years old bucks with decent racks and large feral pigs. This place should be a lot of fun after the work is done.

I setup three cell game cameras so we will get feedback really quick. The current plan to get a feeder setup asap to start feeding corn/protein quickly. Then get a properly setup feeder w/ pen put in at a new spot to start setting up blinds and such.

Sweet. Whats the max #hunters? And total cost for a lease like this?

4 hunters on this one and we paid $2500 per hunter. So my friend and I split it. 2 from his side and 2 from my side. We control the whole lease.

Hogs, deer & birds.

He's currently got a 2000 acre lease in west texas but it's an 8 hour drive. So this one would need to be closer.

If I owned property in your area I would not be getting a lease anyplace but Colorado or Wyoming.

After 8 hours of driving and a 12 hour day the lease has the first proper stand. It needs to be re-skinned and some bracing; but it was a trailer load to haul. I did screw up and had to get a tank full of 89 grade fuel in Junction which the 4Runner drank very very fast. I made it to Brownwood right after the empty light came on. The 4Runner ran much better with the tank full of 93.

Unloading it with just the sammich maker and myself required some creative thinking.

Stood up and view out. I was hurting a bit from standing it up and the sammich maker said to hold still. The floor dimensions are 6' wide by 5' deep.

Still have to do some cleanup from the previous lease tenants that were slobs. This view distance to feeder is 85 yards.

This view distance to feeder area is 215 yds.
