Good idea; lots of old trees and knots at the lease that would fit this nicely.
Maybe all the border brothers are chasing them up northWas surprised to see this as far north as our place is. View attachment 57128

Yeah just the first time I e never had a spare readily available. Still think there’s one at camp somewhere but I’ve searched the whole camper and shop and haven’t found it yet. That sucks. We have all experienced a dead feeder battery at some point.
A second set of hands to hold over the hole while you swap motors is the way to go. Or a strip of duct tape.I have a feeder that seems to have a bad motor. Got to figure out a good way to swap the motor out without wasting all the corn. Might have to bring another drum out there to put it in and then scoop back into the feeder once the motor is swapped. Should be fun. Haha
Got mine going after a couple trips to town this morning. Luckily it was a bad battery (9.2v) and not a bad motor. My feeder is full so I wasn’t looking forward to shoveling 600lbs of corn out of it to change the motor and then shoveling it back in the feeder.I have a feeder that seems to have a bad motor. If his feeder is a Lamco (and probably some other brands as well) like mine, the motor is mounted inside. So you have to get the corn out to even get to the motor.A second set of hands to hold over the hole while you swap motors is the way to go. Or a strip of duct tape.
