We need a money/finance thread...but it fits well here. Separated my land fund and put it into a "high" interest yield savings account. Every month the % gores into the crapper. Started out at 1.8% and now 1.15%. Would of gotten a CD but didn't want to be locked in so I guess I can't complain all that much ~ just always seems like when I have $$ in the banks the economy goes into the crapper. Just glad I have a job and my health, but I'd like my cake and to eat it one day

Yesterday I had to remind myself of a stress mitigation class I took way back in college. Got home and stared at a tree while doing breathing exercises....that was after my mom almost got scammed again but this time through her phone via text and calls. Someone needs to shut these scammers down or stop giving old people cell phones aka mini computers (my brother in law) and computers (my brother in law) with their banking data on it. I took her offline at the banks but she still has e-mail on the cell phone and lord knows what she has in them. I assume social security and bank info from the sale of the marina. Wish we were a little more concerned about our elderly being taken advantage of by foreign powers aka India.

Are you on her bank accounts as well? I'm listed as a secondary on my mom's and I can see how much she has in her accounts.

Yes sir. Duel ownership of all of them (mom & me) + they are all POD to me.

In the process of adding my sister so my moms will is 100%. Right now it contradicts by having my sister listed. I had a friend review it and he caught some things that need tweaking. We still need to talk though - my mother wants to insure if she dies and my sister gets divorced her husband has no ability to get any of the $. I suspect Ill need to remain on the accounts solo if thats the case. At this point I'm thinking just becoming the executor of her accounts would be easier, but both of them have done shady financial stuff so I also need to worry about what that may open me up to.

Mines much easier - I just made my sister the POD beneficiary for all my accounts and if her POS husband gets some of it should they divorce after, it is what it is. I don't care about that spiteful crap.

Yea, neither side is armed with guns in that "demilitarized zone" so they were using bats with nails in them for hand to hand combat. Heard last night 50+ dead. If you watch some of the previous incidents they are walking into each other and pushing like some kind of crazy game. Very weird when seen. Heard India has been building a road to aid logistics because China has been ramping up the area with armored personal carriers and bunkers.




On another note when you are going to fold for anything it just brings more crazies to the surface. Now our home less are mad and "not going to take it anymore" Protesters for homeless rights in Philadelphia lay out demands to city officials

Supposedly half the Atlanta PD has walked off their shift after an officer was charged for killing a black man who was drunk, running from him and trying to shoot him. So apparently, cops can't shoot back when shot at without being charged?

Biggest factor scientists have found regarding success in life across the world is if you have a 2 parent household.

We have a MAJOR cultural issue with some minor racism issues being blamed for everything under the sun. And when I saw "WE" I mean all of us in this country + a ton of others.

Single parent households are bringing down the world. As industry and technology advances we lose the strong family bond.

Also why our kids are retarded when compared to other countries that have strong cultures and strong family bonds.

Guess I should stock up on lube so it doesn't hurt as much when we see a huge illegal spike in property taxes next quarter (our increases are capped because they are already insane). They prob just need more time to find some loopholes

At least Ill know exactly how much additional money I need to redistribute to the less fortunate when I get my next tax bill.

and here I was thinking 28% from my payroll, another 7k in property taxes, 50% of my yearly sales commissions, 2% net that I give to to charity, and another 7% on everything I buy would suffice since I have no kids and take very little resources from the community. Heck I only put my trash out once every month if that.
