This reminds me of my douchebag biz partner - focus on the guys attorney - his protective shield. He always uses other folks attorneys so that they can not use that attorney to sue them. He would always say, 'Let's use your attorney so that you trust what we are doing.' Forturnately for me, I used biz attorney that had referred a lot of biz to me. The litigator that I have worked with through the years is the guy that is helping me now. Much more expensive. Hopefully I get through that one with a few nickles left in my pocket.

If it weren't for tariffs (regulations) on imports the US wouldn't produce anything for my trade. My entire profession would be usurped by the Chinese instead of US citizens if there were no regulations. The US has little to no Bauxite mines and produces no cutlet (aluminum). The China subsidized companies would flood our market with cheaper products until our industry folded then they would have a monopoly on the trade and prices would skyrocket. No idea how a proivate US company can compete against a company subsidized monetarily by the Chinese government. Not even to mention the government spy network China utilizes to steal our trade secrets and pas onto their own companies.
It may be all unicorns and rainbows in the perfect world, but regulations are required to keep our industry going so we can maintain our standard of living. You can't have a free democratic government that runs solely on capitalism with zero regulations because people are immoral and greedy. Any business 101 student knows you make more money importing products when you use slave labor from a third world country to produce them vs using your own high paid unionized countrymen.
Problem with that model is you lose your own workforce and start relying on the third wold country for all your goods. China isn't becoming the big boy on the block from outsourcing their jobs - just saying. Here is an eye opener of what China is doing right now to avoid tariffs (literally producing products from aluminum that don't get tariffs so they can bring them over and melt them down for extruding into products that carry a tariff).
