but yeah in-laws are preppers and i saw the kershaw with the jade handles and thought it would be perfect because in vietnamese wedding the elders hand down jade trinkets. im not married or in a relationship with the daughter anymore but i was told im still family so i thought it would be a cool gift

But in Asian cultures - do not give knives or clocks. Don't ask me why I know.

Because of this superstition, it is common that the gift of a knife will be given along with a penny, nickel or dime in the box with the knife so that the recipient can give back the coin, thereby saving the friendship from being severed by the giving of the sharp blade.

2015 census data was released... my states FUBAR. More people leaving then coming in and it's a trend thats not stopping - only growing a larger deficit with each passing year. Time to GTFO of here now before it's to late. I can't pay any more taxes without my head popping off.

Between 2005 and 2015 6% of the Caucasian race left our state. It's so high they called it "white flight" in the data. Blacks are also leaving NJ in record numbers - they didn't have the balls to call it "Black flight"

Meanwhile there was a 30% uptick for people of Asian/Spanish decent during the same timeline. If it wasn't for immigrants coming to NJ we would already be broke. Luckily the immigrants are the only ones who don't know enough about this state to keep them from moving here.

Oh, you can blame some NJ residents for that as well. TX is one of the top 5 places our states populous goes to when they leave and 99% of our residents have similar beliefs to the Kali people.

Think my high-school bus had 1-3 white people on it including me. My town was settled very heavily by Filipinos and people from India in the early 80's. Due to their commitment to "community" once it was settled it only grew larger as they brought more members of their families over. I can remember many a dinner at friends houses where there were 15+ people sitting down to break bread. Both races always seemed to be committed to working very hard so they could advance their community.

There was a decent amount of Asians at my high school but I was always the token Asian guy in a crowd of white kids
