Reasons the young don't want to work in construction:
48% don't want a physically-demanding job - thats easy to see because most of America is overweight
32% Say it's too difficult - thats easy to see because why take on hard tasks in life? It's not like they build character and make you a better person.
26% want an office job - thats easy to see because most would rather never leave their parents basement

I know you think I am nuts but I blame the same folks I blame for the decay of many other things in our society - the media, Hollywood, the University system, the music industry, etc. Other than the efforts of our own Mike Rowe (aka Tex), I can't think of any example where construction workers are 'glorified.' Their efforts prefer to look to those folks as backwards, uneducated and no one you would want to aspire to be.

I don't think your nutz for your beliefs. I tend to agree, but also think if you let your environment decide who you are and how you think as a person, you're weak. I get that it may impact thoughts at the unrealized subconscious level.
I can only assume thats why the survey reflects the youth changing their minds once they hear the salaries available when working in the trades.
I can agree that many people look down on anyone that works with their hands for a living. It is sad that their children grow up with the same opinion of the skilled trades. I would rather be a skilled tradesman than a software salesman.

Once again it's money.
Marketing: The art of getting rational people to do irrational things. There is little to no money in promoting the idea that it takes all kinds. The money is made by convincing people there is only certain ways. Look at college football. As my dad used to say, "College football is the best MONEY CAN BUY." Just after he said that, he met a guy who just got a brand new Camaro from the 'volunteers' that supported a college I went to.

Sad to say I did catch up on some 'news' today. I am personally hoping that Le Pen will win in france. Not for any particular reason other than polls showing her opponent so far ahead. I do feel that people that write news forget that they are supposed to be reporting and not steering the public. Who knows and later today I will submerge myself into something other than politics. Maybe a margarita or two.

I hate Apple. All the Apple fans love them. It is a religion for many. That was the plan from the beginning. The Job Title of the Marking Managers in the early days were Evangelists. I don't use much of there 'services' because they require things that they would absolutely hiss at - they require you to only believe in their god. In order to download free apps, they require a credit card. If you want to recover your password, you basically have to tattoo an Apple logo on your forehead and if you don't use IOS and Safari, IT's A MULTI-DAY SERVICE. As much as I like the Rand Family I would never vote for them because they would never win an election. On the other hand, I will be voting for Google's new operating system even though they will probably end up much like Apple. For now, they accept people of all 'faiths.'
I just find it funny that the people that love Apple would typically bash any other company that made 30%+ net margins and executed the same practices Apple practices.
Edit: I am using a MacBook Air and I need the password to find my iPad.
