Over-saturation of malls is due to tax breaks the builders get. They were building strip mall and malls as tax shelters. The bubble is/was always going to burst. I still blame Amazon

and I blame Wal-Mart before Amazon. I remember in the very late 80's a WalMart opened in Alamagordo NM.. you would have thought it was the second coming of Jesus Christ to the folks there.

And now the building stands empty. Probably built a new one somewhere else.

I think Amazon deserves a pat on the back for rewriting the e-commerce industry. The traditional mall was already failing with the advent of e-commerce. The centralized sites like Amazon simply sped up the process by giving the consumer more options in one place.

I always laugh at those "green" re-purposing projects these architects get in their heads. They don't realize how much work/cost it takes to get a closed down building of that scale up and running again. People also don't realize how quickly a building goes to shit once the HVAC is shut off for an extended period of time.
I could see those areas being demoed and then a neighborhood of clone brick houses with tiny little yards and fences put in.

true....same can be said for HD/Lowes and all the big box stores killing off the mom and pops. My town lost our local grocer this year and that pissed me off, yet I still buy bulk supplies from BJ's warehouse so I helped kill it

Any over/under of how long it will take this sexual harassment thing to be a full court press on Trump to leave office. They are certainly offering a number of sacrificial lambs in this effort. I fully understand that many of you may think I am a complete nut with my distain for the 'entertainment' business. If I thought they would just 'entertain' us, then I would participate. They don't. They have become the single most purveyor of political and social messaging.

'They' meaning the money behind the 'entertainment' industry which these days more than include the news. Any one faction owning 90%+ of messaging is scary. At least to me.

If you think you are the one that controls your subconscious you are optimistic. ...or you control they content your mind absorbs. I would love to get to that cul-de-sac as I trust more of you guys than I would trust some Hollywood Mogul or Attorney!!!
