I think part of it is that he is saying what he said he was going to do - get the economy going. It looks like he is doing that and his detractors are discussed with the idea that he would have any success - with anything other than funding them prior to him running for office!!!

Second, I can not see the hysteria. It sounds like the real people that get hosed are the ones in states where they like to hose their people anyway. I am not sure it will cause an exidous but I hope it gets the residents to finally understand how their own state is the one that is really phucking them!

I like the whole expiration of the personal tax breaks!!! It's just like how Obamacare was front end loaded only to implode after he left office. The deal of the tax breaks expiring around an election will fuel the whole election. Keep the low taxes? or Raise taxes? That will be the question!

NJ is within the top 5 states for having millionaires...and we have the highest property taxes. If the property taxes do get capped at 10k for writing them off I would think we will have some homes for sale sooner than later. Not like NJ cares because we hit our residents with a high ass tax when you relocate out of state. For reference my humble abode in a blue collar town is "assessed" by the tax man as being worth 131k and for that I pay slightly less than 7k per year. Basically anyone with a nice house in NJ will go WAY over 10k in property tax write offs. I bought mine foreclosed and it should of been a total gut.

I just wish some of the states would pull their own weight. Our state subsidizes many others and it's not fair to fleece me to give to others who pay less IMHO.

Around $400k.. we fight the property tax hike every year. Every year (since being built in 2013) they have tried to raise it 9-10%.. max amount is 10%. Each year we fight it and come away with ~5% or so hike. Getting harder to fight though when a new house (same size.. same builder) being built in the hood is over $500k on a smaller lot. Actually I pinged the wife and asked her if she remembered what our tax bill was last year and she said it was just at 14k.

I own a 1000 sq ft condo with a one car garage. $600 monthly HOA. Bought it for 114,600 mamy years ago. The last one went for $550,000. Due to Prop 13, i pay about $2k. A new buyer would pay 1.125% at the new sales price. Prop 13 actually helped Reagan get elected. ...and the douche bags took it all the way to the SCOTUS in an attempt to get that reversed! Fucking liberals! The would argue against any good idea! Trump is getting the same crap. He may not be as polished as Reagan but for a NYer, he has big balls and a schlong just like Ronnie.

Using super basic (wrong) math - Your house is approx 3x the value of mine so if mine was worth that much lets say I'd be about 21k in taxes per year. The property I have my eyes on in upstate NY has annual property taxes of less than $500 per year and is more than 20 acres.

Funny now that I think about it..... both our states are inhabited by flaming liberals yet CA is #46 on the list and NJ is #49 for not needing Fed handouts. Not trying to stir the pot - I actually find that to be amazing. Freaking Kentucky takes $2.20 per every dollar they give the Fed. CA and NJ are in the negative and give more than they receive. Freaking leach states......
