Can't say much because the US is full of sue crazy people but my work "had" gone over 5 years without a workman's comp claim. Well that's no longer true. One bad hire and walla...... stellar record ruined. Never in all my life have I had a worker go to the hospital for a muscle strain.....let alone one who tells his co-workers he hurt his shoulder over the weekend then 10 minutes into the day decides he got hurt at work and must go to the hospital. That was my day yesterday after this guy took a 4 day weekend. Boss is looking at me funny - I said to the boss - you hired him. I just got stuck with him on my job because thats all the labor we had.

That really sucks. Sounds like my parents neighbors. Every few years she has a slip and fall at a business and files suite.
She even twisted her ankle from an uneven spot in my parents yard and filed suite so my parents insurance took care of the medical. They were friends in the past till that happened.

Only good thing is I did my job and he can't blame me or the company I work for as being negligent. All of our tools and work tasks exceed OSHA safety standards. Only thing I didn't have onsite that I should of was a physical paper copy of an incident report....which my foreman easily printed from his computer when it happened.
