I found 100 acres last year right on the border. Land was CHEAP and the lot was square which I loved. Had all the great features I wanted...natural springs, riverfront, few ponds, remote, off the grid, etc. I decided against it for two reasons but #1 was that there was no way I wanted a lot on a open border. Whole point is to get away and the last thing I need in 20-30 years is border jumpers and drug runners pissing me off. The Canadian border is just a clear cut swath of forest in the middle of the woods. Looks more like a fire break than an actual border.
