Depends which stations you watch. They are all slanted to whichever base they are trying to cater to. That said; even our most liberal news here would be conservative out there. When I was still in the Corps I would bring back to LA the Ft Worth and Waco newspapers for my buddies to check out. Their reactions to the differences in editorials and reporting were funny. This was back in 2005 so I can only imagine how different it is now.

But I bet @Silverback has pretty liberal news being down there by the weird spot of Texas.

I work for a company that monitors and controls the grid in Texas. It's like a prison around here.. we joke the only thing missing is the guard towers around the perimeter.

Try working in a nuke plant, looks like a prison minus the power lines coming out. The guards damn near outnumbered the workers to run the plant. My biggest fear working there was an internal thread from our own security.

Did that for 11 years, that was enough for me. Being on the transmission and distribution side of things is different for the better. The controls for all the circuit switchers and breakers at our substations all controlled via SCADA and fiber; the security for that is pretty high as far as I know I never talk to the computer geeks that run that side of it though .

From Conroe, Tx and (Montgomery county) through several more counties all the way to Louisiana, the distribution lines/power comes from Louisiana. Lived there for 14yrs and went 2 weeks without power from Katrina and 11 or 12 days without power from Rita.
