Well he said they could sue the store but he didn't say they could win in that lawsuit...but yeah that is bullshit that the judge ruled that way.

Can I sue Ford or GM if someone without a driver's license kills my family with their vehicle?

Did he already have the AR and just buy the magazines? I don't think anyone has ever asked to see my ID when I bought any magazines. Granted most are purchased online. But if he was just buying the magazines then I doubt the store didn't know it was illegal for him to have them.

Oh and sorry if those questions are answered in the link but my ad-blocker won't let me see the page.

I can't read that paper in the links. They always want $$ when you guys link it.

Oh....f that sh*t. I buy things out of state all the time I'm not allowed to have in my state. Doesn't mean I'm transporting them back to my state. I have a Amazon address just for Pennsylvania just so I can buy things NJ doesn't allow and have them shipped there lol

Last mag I bought in PA would get me 7 years mandatory min in NJ Fed slammer if I brought it home. PA just took my money. No id's or silliness needed there for a mag.

That's Mr Asshole to you
So he bought the gun and magazines at the same time and produced a Colorado ID for the gun purchase.
The way I read it was the gun came with a 30 round mag and he bought a 2nd mag.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out since the letter of the law reads the gun sale has to be legal in Texas and the state the buyer resides in. But the individual state laws should not be placed on retailers like Academy.
We can go to Colorado and buy weed legally with a Texas DL.

If I was a betting man - I'd say the dealer is screwed. Not saying I agree with it at all because I do not and all be damned if I want more of my rights lost because I'm in a similar boat when I go out of state.

I was talking to a buddy the other day about "Knock Knock NJ is coming for your Glock" after we passed the 10 round mag ban. My buddy was asking me if I was nervous about it. I asked why? I then informed him that NJ has zero records of my hypothetical legal out of state purchases. He on the other hand has guns that came from NJ with 15 round mags and those purchases are on the books in NJ. He basically became an overnight felon waiting for a knock at his door while no one knows what I have. Only thing I'm forced to buy in NJ is pistols of which I was dumb enough to do once so they have me for 1 fire arm on record that holds 10 rounds.

Absolutely! Whether you'll win or not is up to the lawyers you hire to defend you. If you lose, you pay all the legal fees for your lawyer and theirs....

Local gas station sues buccees for selling fuel priced below cost.

First Buc-ee's location outside Texas target of lawsuit for 'predatory' gas prices | Business | Dallas News

That's some bull ish.

They outta be able to sell it for a penny if they want to. Just about part of buccees whole market strategy is to have cheap fuel to get you inside to spend money on higher profit items.

I didn't know they had laws against that for gas. I know NJ has it for booze.

I was taught that laws like that were put on the books to protect from monopolies (stops large corps from killing off the small mom and pops).

Any large corp could move in, drop prices below cost, run the competition out of business's, then raise prices and lower service once they have a monopoly.

Sounds like an exact fit. Guy who runs that chain and set those prices is either a total moron or a genius.

Buc-ee’s doesn’t advertise the gas prices at their large locations here, and I have never bought gas there, cause the few times I have checked, it wasn’t that good of a price. They get my money from inside sales of food, snacks and drinks for that clean restroom stop.

Hmm. Hadn't heard it from that perspective.

Buccees is a huge name down here in Texas. Each location is like 120 gas pumps and 30k sq ft of retail inside. It's pretty much a gas station mall

I have no idea if that's why you guys have those rules on your books, but this scenario also applies to tariffs on international trade. China does this now and uses it to manipulate markets.

China subsidizes private companies so they can undercut markets, become monopolies, then charge whatever they want. I will always respect China and Japan because while we have 5 year business plans they have 100 year business plans. We worry about tomorrow and they worry about a decade from now.
