They are great for shooting with moderately decent sight pictures. Wish we had them for gas mask shooting.
I'm just thinking they are better for old eyes and keeping the eye on the threat.

Watched the local news in China last night and after that ended up buying ammo, some more respirator filters, some more throw away masks, restocked my rubber gloves, grabbed a couple tyvek suits, and stocked up on meds.

Call me crazy or whatever, but it's not like I won't use this stuff if this scare becomes the next millennium type bust. The Tyvec suits will be needed to clean out my old insulation and install more in my attic this spring if I don't need them prior & all the other stuff I already stock - just made sure I was topped off.

Looked into full face masks but for the price of them - Ill just keep using my old ski goggles for wire wheel/crud throwing/eye protection type stuff

I got lucky and found a case of 1k rounds of 9mm the other day in the back of a cabinet that I forgot I had! lol

Meh........That's what 'they' all say until 'they' run out of food/water/ammo/meds

Thats always great. Like finding cash in a pocket while doing laundry ~ almost seems like it's free lol

I had that happen once ~ Threw a hole bag full of .22lr under my kitchen bench seat where I keep my poker supplies after a weeks long 4x4/shooting meet and forgot about it. Go to play poker at my house a few years later and I found a bunch of 500 round box's

appears NJ enjoyed the Trump rally last night, didn’t know there was that many closet repubs in the suburbs of NJ.

I totally forgot about that. I actually wanted to go just to see what it was like. Ill have to check fakebook tonight and see how my buddys made out.

NJ always gets a bad rap, but like any state the city/populous centers and independents rule the roost. Heck we turned my region red this year for the first time in my life.

For a "blue state" we do elect republican gubners from time to time and we are only outnumbered by a million registered voters... well when I saw "we" I'm actually an independent for the third year so I am no longer a "we".

I can't remember when I stopped tugging on the republican party's pants leg and started registering as an independent. Think it's when the party got behind a New York City slicker who was a life long democrat and rebranded him as some conservative outsider then got him elected to president ~ yea that's the one lol

Even though I dislike him - I do still support the conservative agenda like I always have.

I was able to safely leave the stock market today with a small profit since last weeks stock buys, I have concern the Corona virus will have negative effect against the stock market, similar to past previous patters from SARS and MERS.

And I am not fearful of that. :) Fear begets fear. ;) ...and it does drive the stock market. :)

And I know I should be careful. This was the return on my larger one of my brokerage accounts in the last year. I had my head up my ass for a few years (since the company that I owned needed a cash infusion every month of about 40k). (I'm mostly a swing trader).

I may do some rotation but I believe we are going to move forward. :) Time will tell.

Nice, my 401k hit 33.6% FY19

I have to trade, short position trader and with that money, I’m already up 18.4% this year.

Good stuff. I'm trying to spend more time on my strategy as I want to A. Build my retirement and B. Get back to being able to spend sometime on the road or trail enjoying myself in a pair of Carharts instead of a suit and tie.

  • Looking back 20 years, previous epidemics from SARS in 2003 to the Ebola scare six years ago shaved 6% to 13% off the S&P 500 over different lengths of time, according to Citi.
  • The equity benchmark was down about 2.6% through Monday's close since Jan. 21.
  • Zika started in Nov. 2015 and was spread mostly by bites from infected mosquitoes. The market suffered a near 13% pullback in the span of 66 sessions.
  • All 11 S&P 500 sectors declined during SARS, and information technology and communication services were among the biggest losers, falling 14% and 26% respectively.

ref: Market reactions to past virus scares show stocks may have more to lose

So far, the corona beer virus appears to be outpacing the SARS in regards to the total number of infected, unfortunately the death toll will rise to that of SARS or a lot more.

Oil is on my radar again, nearly all the big players in oil are closing on their 52wk lows, and Iran is sitting back scheming their next plot.
