Just had what felt like a 72 hour vacation (actually was only 32 hours). Talk about putting my head in check! Started out as just another great trip with no real plans, just a general idea as to where to start and where to end. OMG! We were rolling down a very remote trail and then we see a sweeper truck not really sweeper but it was clearing the road. Then a tractor trailer. WTF? Then I see a gate that I never remember seeing before. Then we see some strange 'rocks.' Then we spotted some Humvees and Deuce and a halfs that have covered in camo netting. IT WAS FUCKING EERIE!!! Turns out we were on a LIVE TRAINING AREA. We then turned around and as we were going back, I'm thinking, "It can't be an exclusive training area." so we turned around - going back into the live training area. I'm betting that the tractor trailer was for supplies for the training mission.
We must have seen 60-70 'hidden' pieces of equipment and tents and probably 40 personnel scattered in different areas.
Then we reached the other fence and gate - with a BIG RED SIGN - DO NOT ENTER - LIVE MILITARY TRAINING AREA! Ooops!!! I was just glad that some of the people that were stationed on the 'open' side of the training area didn't rush over to us as we were leaving.
