Crazy ass weather + pandemic = I scrapped my cabin plans. Way too much BS going on for that build. All the money spent on fire rated insulation, roofing, and siding could be saved by just going to where the ground is always a consistent temp. Thinking it's time for a smaller underground cabin with a ground level garage. After watching Andrew Camarata's build with steel and concrete then having a heck of a two day storm with a tornado watch........got me thinking. Safest place in my basement is under my stairs and that offers little protection if a tornado did hit.

So you decided to scrap the cabin and build a bunker. You should look for one of those abandoned underground government facilities that you always hear about but can never find .

Not looking for a nuke type bunker, nor any superfund clean up sites so Ill be avoiding gubment land.

Kind of land I can hopefully afford sooner than later will have zero infrastructure. Acreage is key to me. Any infrastructure like even a driveway ramps up the price way past my budget aspirations.

+ last thing I want is big brother having my blueprints. Looking for land w/no zoning and even better if the town is not even incorporated. Less officials overseeing my land and what I do with it - the better. I have to work with inspectors at work - last thing I need is some guy telling me a shit pit is not allowed and Ill need a 250k leach field and 30k in engineering fees. No thanks.



& anyone buying a bunker - the #1 thing is to not have it's location be known so a website selling them is not where Ill be looking. I like the guy in England who built his own and put a shed on top of it.

Know that ground temps have a couple of month lag. Which is good.
