The whole situation is a pressure cooker. I asked one of my co-workers in Poland about it and he said the media in Europe has a very different opinion than US media. They seem to think it is Putin rattling swords for a land grab without military action.

Putty and no military action, lol I doubt that, the rebels are shelling now.

Food for thought..
"There will be global repercussions if the West fails to commit to defending Ukraine’s sovereignty, including for Taiwan, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Saturday (Feb. 19)."

So Russia is going to "support" the rebel controlled areas to become their own countries away from Ukraine? These areas have been conflict areas for a while as the landmass of Ukraine is not a single culture. It would probably benefit the country's long term stability to get rid of the rebel issues. I am not sure this is the proper method but it is what we have currently.

"Rebels" using Russian military arms and artillery.

Putty has had Russian military operatives, aka Rebels in those areas since 2014.

Much like the US has had funded operatives in countries all over the world for decades.

Good example of where we need to mind our own business.

Oh I agree, I don't blame Putty one bit, he needs that country, allows their navy/military to have an actual deep water port usage during winter months, it a very strategic piece of land to them.

Apparently there was a Russian-backed bank and gov hack recently in Ukraine. Now there are reports of malware and DDoS attacks against industry and government networks in Ukraine.

Working in Cyber Security and being a member of several organizations, some of which receive publications and notifications from government agencies. I received a "shield up" alert yesterday due to the increased liklihood for Russian state sponsored cyber attacks.

There was nothing of substance in the alert, but it is interesting the timing of it. I took it as a "I can't tell you exactly why you need to be prepared, but you need to be prepared (wink)" sort of notification.
