Oh I posted a picture of it. Blue Titanium they call it. Kiddo will hopefully love it. She said she wanted a black one but that was a different mfg and this one matches my pocket knife rather well. Plus blue is one of her 5 favorite colors. LOL

I miss Benchmade. Just can't bring myself to losing more of them in the water. I feel much better when I lose a less expensive pocket knife vs a Benchmade that costs 2-3x more. Man I loved that axis lock though. Just wish Benchmade would come up with a more secure belt bracket~ Spyderco's belt brackets seem much more secure to me. I keep my knifes on my right side on my belt . When I'm working the docks I lean on that side and extend my right arm under the dock to access the hardware. Typically the first time I drag myself over to the left side of the dock I hear a splash and there goes another. I used to try and find them with a 250# magnet but in 20+ feet of water with 13 knot current that's more luck than anything.

If my life has thought me anything in the last 6 years, it is frugality. Unless I am shaking something that will make me millions or pay my medical insurance or pay my mortgage, there isn't any knife costing me more than about $25 that will make it in to my inventory. :) Spend like a pauper, live like a millionaire.

I want to spend and live like a pauper so hopefully it will take me less time to retire lol

On the other hand nutting away cash for hypothetical retirement 27 years from now seems dumb when I compare myself to friends who live week to week with zero savings, but enjoy the heck out of life every day.

Work to live - Don't live to work....sometimes I get the two confused

I try to strike a balance between the two. I feel bad for people who do without for so long and then end up unable to enjoy the retirement they planned for due to health or death. Generally I get the advice from many older people to enjoy some life now and plan for some life later. I try to not blow out the bank account right now and still enjoy my life enough that I can convince myself to keep working.

I’m not a fan of Benchmade or stainless steel blades. I’ll take a good 1095 carbon blade any day.

I have one of these under the tree right now. It’s taking everything for me not to go ahead and open it.

Oh I never told her.. and I have a ton of others I could use. I just wanted something different. My DPX HEST has seen its share of EDC so I was giving it a break.

I'm the same...I love my Gerber Paraframe and currently EDC a Kershaw Clash. Neither have ever let me down

Awe sounds like a Sheep Build discussion in here, too much wool saved could limit your mobility on the mountain and exploration.
Not enough wool, could mean cold nights, weak, hungry and vulnerable to predators.

An expensive knife cuts wool, just as a good knife cuts wool.

Loco owns one expensive, defense knife, made by Emerson model CQC8 and he only spent that much money on a knife because he can't legally carry sling shot on base... with slight pressure against your pocket when you retrieve your knife, automatically deploys the blade, his knife and quick reflexes are faster than anyone deploying a switch blade.

The only time my Benchmade isn't on my person is when I'm sleeping.

If I know I'll be out in the water or someplace I could lose a knife, I'll swap my Benchmade for one of my old cheap Gerber knives. Next to my phone, my Benchmade is my second most used tool I own.
