Waiting on the delivery truck Santa to get here on Thursday. I ordered a Dake 10 ton press with a transversing cylinder. It will work very well for anything I need in my garage for fab work. Next up will be a Swag Off Road press brake next paycheck. The plan is to have my fab setup stepped up a level before taking on my next two projects.

Any reason you went with the Dake over the Baileigh?

@balakay

One of my customers has a large Dake press and they have used it for years with no issues. I have a buddy that does machine work and he speaks highly of Dake equipment. As for the final decision I found less upset reviews on the smaller Dake presses than I did for the smaller Baileigh presses.

The table on the Dake press is the same style table as their larger presses. The Baileigh press table is probably more than okay but considering the abuse I put on my hardware I did not care for the table and pin setup.

Right on. We have some Dake stuff at work and its all great! I just noticed that the Baileigh was comparable in price and has 1" longer stroke and less pumps per inch (we still talking about presses?) and I know how much those porta power pumps suck to use once you get in the higher psi range. I'd have probably bought the Baileigh on that fact alone. Less pumps = mo betta for me. But I'm scrawny. Glad you finally have a press though. It'll make getting the bushings out of my LCAs a lot easier ;)

The LCA bushings were in the back of my mind when I ordered it. My Dad should be coming up to replace his LCA bushings some time this Fall. I will probably refurb my old LCAs ahead of time so as to make his maintenance day go faster. Another awesome part is that since the 10 ton press is the bench top model it is kind of "portable". At 150 lbs it is not an easy task but it is possible if there is enough need for it.

I thought about buying a used set to build up ahead of time. But the used market for KDSS LCAs is very slim and when they do come for sale, they're too rich for my blood. But I'm going to do mine when my shocks are at Accutune so I'll have a week or so to get the LCAs done. I'll pull them off, burn out the bushings, and take them to work to clean them up in the hot wash tank. Then bring them by one day and press the new bushings and ball joints in and put them back on with new cam bolts and TC gussets.

Ordered a parts washer. A buddy of mine bought one a few months back and he stores it in his shop trailer. Its a portable version (no legs so you have to set it on a bench or stand) that allows you to seal it up and carry it places or store it without the smell of the solvent. But he said its been great and the price was right. I was cleaning up that RCV axle and decided one would be nice to have.

Picked this up today. I think this will be one of those tools that I wish I bought 3 years ago.

All my guys speak praise about Spectra. They were on my list and I would of bought their laser, it just didn't come in green in the model we wanted. Let us know how you make out with it.

Tried it out yesterday. My main use for it will be finding level on posts for patio covers, gates, etc. Made finding level on this thing a breeze.
