Tools!

That is some expensive stuff! You can call Fluke and have them look up the registered owner of the equipment by the serial number. That kind of hardware gets registered immediately.
That's kinda what I was thinking. Website says it has a year's worth of gold service support or something. Hopefully it's done by serial number and we can get this back to the owner

The tools should be registered to the buyer for warranty/training purposes. They will have some sort of contact info in their system. If they do not have any info on the owners I will give you $3.50 for all of it to get it off your hands.

I'm uping the bid, a circulated 1976 centennial quater and a case of Lone Star Coldbeer.

Yikes!!! 100k in lost equipment and no contact info should mean someone loses their job. That's crazy stupied.

I have my card in all my bags because at any one time I'm carrying over 1k in measuring equipment. For 100x that I'd have a armed guard lol.

I agree with shooter - contact Fluke and they should know who's it is. If the products weren't registered they can track them down to the reseller and I'd bet they would know who they sold them to if you gave them a list of the equipment.

Due to the amount of $$ I'd check your w/your LEO's to see if you "have" to do anything particular. Thats a ton of $$$$ so you may need to list it in the local paper if you want to eventually take ownership and resell the stuff if the owner never comes forward.

Does anyone know anything about fiber optic testing equipment made by fluke industries? Wife's dad found a case full of the stuff on the side of the road. Looked up the equipment and it's well over 100k worth of stuff. Trying to figure out how to get it back to its rightful owner @tx_shooter @Oswego @Anathollo
Damn! That's a helluva find! I'm shocked they didn't have the companies name somewhere on the case...But like @tx_shooter and @Oswego said, all you can do is contact Fluke at this point. It might even be to the point that you turn it into the police so you don't get in trouble for trying to resell it since that tool costs so much.

Could have a GPS tracker in it. Guy might not know he lost it yet.

Did the guy at least give him the story about how he was dumb enough to leave 100k in tools laying around?

X2 for the karma being enough, but always nice to offer a reward. If you refuse me twice Ill put it back in my pocket, but I always offer and when I don't have cash on me I offer whatever I have which has come down to giving some tomatoes away lol

I too am curious to know how they lost them in the first place.

Fell off the back of their truck. Put it up there and forgot about it.

Speaking of which...

I left my welding hood on my trailer and drove off with it on there. She gone...it was an expensive hood but It was more the sentimental value. I've had it since welding school and already bought a new hood to swap the new style lens into it. Here's an old pic of it vs the new hood I bought to rob the lens

Same hood I have. Think you were the one that gave me the recommendation.

thumbs down for the BoschHammer 11247 I borrowed from work. Thing looks brand new and no hammer function. Looked it up online and apparently it's typical of it to stop hammering/break. Reaffirms my hatred for all Bosch tools.

lol it's like they either make really good tools or just really shitty tools. No middle ground there.

You know I have a BUNCH of Bosch tools, when I bought them they were all the best one they made for that device. Out of the 16-18 various Bosch tools I have, the 5/8th hammer drill is the crappiest. The chuck is shit... complete shit. Then I lost the chuck key.. bought every damn key that was close to it from Lowes and Home Depot.. NONE fit. Had to spend $6 plus $10 shipping (or something stupid like that) to get the key from Bosch. But I love my Bosch routers (big dog and palm) and the jig saw is the tits. Same for sanders, never had an issue and I beat the shit out of them.

The only Bosch tool that has taken a licking and is still kicking I have is a 25+ yo drywall gun I bought for the marina. I must have run a couple hundred thousand 3" deck screws with it over the years. I give that one respect because I never used it as it was intended and it kept going regardless. That was back in the day when things appeared to be much better made vs todays. I wonder if it still works - been in my basement for the past 10+ years.

Oh and I did forget about Bosch routers. One of my old roomates had one and that thing did kick ass.

I mainly hate them because I was stuck with one of their POS lasers for months last year. They might be fine for homeowner type use, but w/o a locking prism they get a huge thumbs down from me. One drop and it's going to be off and they can't be re-calibrated so in the trash they go.

Time to start knocking out some projects around the house. So I'm looking for suggestions on a good, reliable, 7 1/4" circular saw and a random-orbit sander for now. I figure it'll be pretty easy to tell from reviews what is a safe bet and what is garbage, but since I have no experience doing woodwork, I figured I'd ask for suggestions.

I have both and both are Bosch. Both are awesome. The only other circular saw I would buy would be a Milwaukee.

They sell a new worm gear saw that is better.. I don't recall it being available when I bought mine.
Bosch CS5 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw

My sander is similar but has a different bag on it... they changed it over the years.
Bosch ROS65VC-6 6 in. Variable-Speed Random Orbit Sander with Vibration Control

Another good option at a lower cost.
Bosch ROS20VSC 5 in. VS Palm Random Orbit Sander Kit with Canvas Carrying Bag
