Time to start knocking out some projects around the house. So I'm looking for suggestions on a good, reliable, 7 1/4" circular saw and a random-orbit sander for now. I figure it'll be pretty easy to tell from reviews what is a safe bet and what is garbage, but since I have no experience doing woodwork, I figured I'd ask for suggestions.
I have a Makita 7-1/4" that's a beast. I tried to find AvE's YouTube techie on it but it must've been taken down by the fucktard robots that run YouTube.

Can't go wrong with a Makita either.

AvE tore apart a Makita and was impressed. He's pissed that SkilSaw is cheapening their tools now to make an extra buck.

EDIT: Grammar.

for random orbits I use Ridgid. they have a lifetime warranty and when used/abused you will blow through random orbit sanders to the point they stop being random orbit and just spin in circles

Never seen a circular saw blow up - also never needed to own one besides the battery operated DeWalt I have. Only needed it to cut down installed fence posts once in 15+ years of home ownership. I use table saws and miter saws for 99% of my cutting.

X2 for Ridgid. I've had a few tools replaced under warranty. Personally, I don't think they should have broken in the first place, but getting a replacement with no questions asked is pretty cool.

I bought an 18v combo pack of Rigid several years ago. Hammer drill was ok, but FUCKING heavy, circular saw blew.. felt like the bottom of it was sand paper.. thing would not slide on wood easily. Ended up giving it away a couple years later after I went Milwaukee. But I bought my son a Rigid 18v combo kit of the drill and impact and they were nice, smaller drill and impact had decent power.

For all you Milwaukee Boyz...
@Silverback @achirdo
"Pro-tip if you look at a Milwaukee serial, the 6th through 9th digits are the year and week of manufacturer date and they have 5 year warranty. For example if your serial is F23D41634, that means your tool was made in the 34th week of 2016. Also the last two of a model signifies if the kit is a bare tool or includes batteries. If it's a XXXX-20 Thats a bare tool, XXXX-21, one battery, XXXX-22 is 2, XXXX-22XC is extended capacity batteries and so fourth."

And if you do the Ridgid deal through Home Depot, remember to register them because otherwise, you will not get the lifetime battery replacement. :) Waiting for a sale for a small impact and drill.

How did I miss this for years

Nice! I used to need that for my keys. Now only my 10 mm nut driver. lol

Yeah I never bought into that. Of course I don't manage a contracting business or similar.

I picked up a set of the Milwaukee M12 Fuel drill and 1/4" impact driver. So far I am very impressed with them over my M18 standard drill and 1/4" impact driver. Not a bad present to myself.

Yeah that is a badass "little"set of tools.

Now that you guys are discussing 'little tools' - I bought this 18v kit last night and now I am thinking the 12v kit would be far more a better set for me. I don't plan on using these tools to make a living just to make my life a bit more convenient. Any opinions? I am choosing the Ridgid solely on battery replacement policy with Home Depot.

Seems like the batteries that come with the 12v has more energy storing capability. Seems odd but...
I'm leaning towards the smaller ones to match my small penis which is the reason I drive a small truck! lol
