I picked up a set of the Milwaukee M12 Fuel drill and 1/4" impact driver. So far I am very impressed with them over my M18 standard drill and 1/4" impact driver. Not a bad present to myself.
So my set of M12 Fuel drill and 1/4" impact got a little better today. I was back in the store this morning and asked how I could get my free battery that the display showed with purchase of a tool. Three of the Home Depot employees all checked it out and told me to bring back my receipt and they would take care of it. I went home and got the receipt (about 15 mins one way) only to come back and be told the combo tool set was not one of the qualifying sets for a free battery.
I got home and did the customer survey about the experience just stating I wish they would have said that the first time instead of after a trip for the battery - wasting time and gas. A few hours later one of the managers emailed me about the customer experience I submitted and asked that I talk to him when I was in the store next. I was actually in the store picking up stain and a sheet of 1/4" plywood for my ackie montior enclosure build. The manager and I went back over the situation and I told him I did not want a free battery if my purchase did not qualify for one - I just did not appreciate my time being wasted like that on a weekend. My free time has been extremely limited lately and this really annoyed the piss out of me.
The manager said he appreciates his time off just as much and walked me down to the batteries to get a free battery. He was thinking I was talking about the more expensive 18v batteries and asked why I grabbed a single 12v battery. I told him the drills I bought were the 12v Fuel drills. He put back the single battery and told me to get a 2 pack of the high capacity 12v batteries - said I should at least make all this crap worth it.
So yeah - the drills were on sale when I bought them and then I got two more batteries for free. Been a good weekend for me.
