So our new saw is a PMI and the guys today told me the electric fence sucks. It will not set shorter than 24" so every-time you need to cut something smaller they use a block to fake it out.

That sucks. I could've ordered all the fancy computers and other electronic junk with sensors with my saw for an additional $3k, but I opted out since all those are all failure points and we don't need that stuff here. Trying to keep it KISS.

I'm glad it has it's own dust collection that is made for catching aluminum dust. They cheeped out on the most effective part of an electric fence IMHO... the computer. Wish could just send down a package from my optimization program to the saw from my desk. Would show pictures and have part numbers right on the screen + the fence would move per pc. All the monkey running it would need to do is pick things up and put them down. 15+ years ago on the CNC I ran most of the easy stuff was sent that way from the office. I'd only have to program the crazy stuff the desk jockey didn't know how to do. These days with the simple stick fab I need - it would save a ton of $$ in our shop. I got guys screwing up on every job that comes through.

Dewalt Pole saw has paid for itself already. Cuts pretty good although I kinda wish the head of the chainsaw was a little heavier to help with cutting downward. Although that would make it harder to pick up. (Fridge isn't mine).

I bought the cordless blower using that same battery. I love it... I got it to just make it easy to blow leaves and dog hair off the porch and out of the garage without digging out the gas powered one. I need a chainsaw, let me know how you like it. I was looking at a 16" Stihl

Stihl Chainsaw — 16in. Bar, 30.1cc Engine, 3/8in. Chain Pitch, Model# MS 170 | Northern Tool

Stihl MS Series Chainsaw — 16in. Bar, 31.9cc Engine, 3/8PM3 Chain Pitch, Model# MS 180 | Northern Tool

That's Mr Asshole to you
The MS170 is what I have and it has been a very good saw. Picked it up 6 or 7 years ago to cut down a good size oak that died in my front yard. Since then it has done work at the deer lease, my friends ranch, parents house, trail, and it starts every time. For the price it is hard to beat. Just make sure you have a sharp blade, bar oil, and Truefuel.

After using my manual pole saw yesterday the rope broke for the clipper and the blade is dull after 10 years of use I told the wife I needed the Dewalt for Fathers Day. My oak trees are full of those little sucker limbs sprouting out from the trunk and need to be dealt with. Also need to cut high limb on my pecan to provide sun to a dead spot in the yard so I can plant grass.

I used it yesterday a little. I didn't take down any trees with it, but it cuts damn good. The 80v I have at the shop will kick a trees ass for sure. Only reason I went 40 was to match my weed eater and the lighter weight. I only plan on using it for light duty around here anyway.

Yeah it's nice. And that's only four trees worth of branches. I have another three trees to trim as well as the other trees on my mom's rental properties.

Looks like I am going to be replacing my Ego tools soon. The big battery that came with the chainsaw is not charging properly now. This is on top of my old string trimmer starting to not work as well (only 3-4 years old now) so I am going to price out switching everything over to the Milwaukee tools or just replacing the Ego tools one at a time. I would not mind getting the larger Milwaukee M18 batteries as they also work with the M18 tools so that would make the battery charging options a lot easier too.

I have a Stihl HT-133, 33cc, it is one bad ass pole saw, upper body strength for extended cutting is deff required. Cuts through limbs like butter.

For manual pole saws, there is only one brand to buy, that is JAMESON
Jameson 6' Hollow Fiberglass Extension Pole (81-FG-6)

I have 5 sections of the 6’ and 1 section of 3’, poles lock together at what ever height you want. The blades are stupid sharp and they will stay stupid sharp for many years for any home yard/maintenance.

1/2 inch suckers are removed with 1 stroke, easy as pie.

IMO Milwaukee Outdoor tools are not worth it, the Ryobi has better electric outdoor tools and cheaper, the weed guard on the Milwaukee sucks, I bought it because like you I was going to get that line/brand, not anymore.
Ryobi has 2 different types of straight shaft trimmers to chose from, ton more attachments than M. I bought electric for my boys, but my ECHO, I changed the head and use .155 line, it’s a cutting weed fool, it is my go to weedeater.

@Silverback those are the Darwin’s grip above, I still have one for ya.
I can cut for hours now, and no lower back pain, my son and I did a 7 acre place with cross fencing, corrals, pens and we weedeated for about 4 hours straight.

I'll go back to all the Ego stuff before I go back to gas trimmers.

that Echo is probably pushing 12 years old, and it gets abused with these South Texas weeds and native grasses.

If anyone plans on buying Jameson, only get the yellow utility/commercial pole saw products.

Glad your Echo has been great. I had one once but apparently my usage was not enough to keep it from getting gummed up. So then I started running the canned ethanol free fuel only for it. In the end I would rather trim with fucking scissors than keep dealing with the issues of gas powered string trimmers. I do not have 10 acres to maintain - I maintain an acre. Significantly different needs.

I use supreme gas, with fuel treatment in all small motors and have been for many years, no issues. Preferably summer blend.
