Think I've decided to go with the Husky Heavy Duty Matte Black stuff. Gonna do the 62" wood top 15 drawer workbench, the standing 36" wide cabinet and two 28" wall cabinets hanging above the work bench. It'll fit perfectly in the spot I have available and it think it's the most storage I'll be able to fit into that area. I just don't like the price at $1800 for the set. But Taylor said "who cares? If it gets us the most storage and it's what you want, it'll be a good investment". So I guess I better do it before she changes her mind.

Went to Home Depot alone today. I came home with the garage shelving I went for and a new red tool. This 18v should work for any impact needs I have with 1400 ft/lbs. A good impact has been on my list for a while but they got me today.

That's the same one I originally went with. I was disappointed in it bigtime. I returned it and bought the "cheaper and thinner" gauge metal ones that are about half the cost and I have been very happy with them. They feel just as thick, if not thicker, than the Heavy Duty.

Both go on the deal of the day savings pretty regularly, so keep an eye out for it there.

Yes it is really nice to have one of these in the garage! Use mine quite a bit.

Looks like the Husky stuff is on sale currently.

Might have to get another cabinet. I'm getting kind of tired of the stuff that is exposed on the open shelves.

I've been kind of wanting to pick up a small rolling cart for the garage. The rest of the storage is the black Husky stuff with the chrome handles, or cabinets that I picked up from work that are also black with chrome handles.

Considering this little guy from Husky that I could use mostly gift cards toward. Same brand, but felt kind of cheap in the store and the handles are more like a brushed silver.

Or the US General at HF

I haven't seen the US General stuff in person, but hear constantly good stuff about it. The Husky is narrower and has closed drawers vs. the wider and open bottom of the HF option. Leaning heavily toward the Husky.

I have a US General rolling tool box in my garage that was given to me. That is the only way I would ever have one. Even then I do not use it for much. I do not understand the comparisons to other brands.

*Disclosure - my primary tool box is a large rolling Kobalt and my others are all Milwaukee pack out boxes.

Seems like an apples to oranges comparison. Those are two completely different carts.

I can you see you loading up that Husky 26" drawer to the point that you don't roll it around anywhere and it just sits in one place. If you want a cart then I'd get the second option.

I was thinking of it as being a mostly detailing cart. Light duty use. Would put stuff like towels and rags in the drawers. Use the top piece to hold wax, buffer, spray bottles, etc.

Seems like it'd also be a good option to have when working in the engine bay. No more putting wrenches on top of the plastic engine cover, battery, fuse box, bumper, etc.

Not really apples to oranges....they both have flat tops and locking wheels. Yeah, one is open and the other is closed.

I think you be happy with open cart, I had one and loved it(plastic then got crushed), like you said detailing throw everything in there and wheel it out, and if I was working on a truck it became my temp cart to hold all the tools I pulled out in replacing etc and parts etc. I'll get another one but not until The next shop build 2.0 happens at the farm.

This was on sale at my local homer cheapot for half price, hard to beat a knife for $9 even if it only lasts a few months. Seems to be of decent quality at least the handle and operating mechanism. No telling how long the blade will stay sharp

So I used the new impact working on the trailer this afternoon and damn near fell in love. It is awesome how fast it made dropping the leaf springs and reattaching them a couple times for mocking and final install.

Also, safety third. Maybe fourth. Just another example of why my sammich maker makes sure I keep good life insurance on me.

Can you get a closer up pic of what you are using to actually hold them in place?

I am using these off Amazon. An electrician friend of mine recommended these exact ones. He uses them in his work boxes without issues.

Then I received these last night for the M12 tools. They are made in Texas and are a pretty firm fit. I may end up sanding them a touch to be an easier on/off fit. If I was using them in a trailer the retention fit is perfect right now.
