What have you done to someone else's ride lately?

I like to note, all the vechicles/tires I own get balanced and rotated every 5k miles religiously at their oil change intervals, trailer tires also get rotated every 5k miles, but their more likely age out before wear.

Nothing crazy. Helped a guy on TW install 5100s up front for a half inch of lift.

I applied a ceramic coating to the Expedition.

It's been on there for about a week now. It got applied on Sunday. It rained while my wife was out running errands on Wednesday and the vehicle was dry and spotless when she got home. I haven't witnessed it in the rain yet, but so far am happy.

Seeing Boyd's post in the home improvement thread about pressure washing reminded me that I washed the Expedition when we got back from our Thanksgiving road trip. We drove roughly 800 miles on mostly highway, but there are several roads in NC that are still gravel. The car was dirty, but mostly just surface dust and a few bugs.

Pulled out the pressure washer and foam cannon, hit it with the Adams Foam Soap (pH neutral and safe for ceramic coats). The foam did not stick to the car. It just sort of started sliding off immediately. Since the foam wasn't sticking, I decided to just rinse it off. I could see some "spots" where the foam was sticking, so I assume that was something else on top of the coating. Those spots all came of with the rinse. I used the backpack blower to get all the water off. Kind of cool to see how quickly the water ran/blew off.

The car looked like I had just given it a thorough cleaning. Color me impressed.

Took my Aunt to get a new vatozone battery for for her 4Runner. Just got a Duralast Gold since that's all she wanted to spend (she's retired and on a fixed budget).

Her positive terminal bolt was shot so luckily I still had my old Tacoma one in my bolt collection and I put that in for her.

Not really a ride but I borrowed my uncle's 10' trailer to haul crap to the scrapyard and dump. Of course it's impossible for me to borrow anything from anyone that actually works so I ended up buying some new lights for it. Replaced both lights and wiring all the way to the 4-pin plug. Put a piece of 3/4" conduit underneath to run the wires through since they were previously just ran through holes cut in the angle iron and had rubbed raw. It was a bonus for me because the previous wiring wasn't long enough for me to actually connect it to the 4Runner's plug and now it is. It was only $25 for the new light kit and I figure I borrow it 4-6 times a year for free so not a bad price to pay. I more than likely will be buying a 12' utility trailer once the move is complete though. I hate having to borrow trailers. They always need worked on.

Ain't that the truth. That's one of the reasons I only let a select few people borrow equipment from me anyway, because I know if I let the cat out of the bag my shit comes back all fucked up. I hate borrowing something more than a simple tool from someone for fear of doing that repair work you described, if I'm gonna fix something it's gonna be my own broken shit not somebody elses, but perhaps that's a good business model for getting your shit repaired if you're lazy. Loan it out to someone responsible and have them repair it lol

New water pump, serpentine belt, air filter, and a few gallons of coolant for my dad's truck. Sucked to do in the middle of a field but overall not a bad little job if you actually had the right tools and work area.

We took the Expedition down to FL this past weekend. Was covered in bugs by the time we got back.

The ceramic coating that I put on a few months back doesn't keep it clean like I had sort of hoped. That said, I'm still impressed with the ceramic coating. This was the easiest I've ever removed bugs from the front of a vehicle. Some of them had been on there for a few days and baked on. 1 to 2 passes with the soapy sponge was all it took and they came right off.

I wasn't impressed with the ceramic coating I had done on the 4Runner before we went to Colorado. It was no easier to wash than before.

Welp. Just noticed that the driver side rear shock is leaking fluid on my garage floor.

Currently at about 43k miles. The passenger side rear was replaced at 33k miles. I have a call in to see if they will replace under warranty, but no luck getting a call back and the girl who answered the phone for the service department didn't have a clue. I'm guessing the part of the warranty that covers shocks probably ran out at 36k, but we shall see.
