How hard were those CVs to replace. I have to do it to my uncles.

Pretty easy. CV axle nut, ball joint nut, nut that holds strut to LCA. Remove/Replace. Thing that sucked was the new Vatozone CV. The axle clip was too big/shaped like an egg and it would NOT go in all the way. So we pulled it back out.. swapped with the old OEM clip and it went right in. If you are on the ground doing it as I was, putting the ball joint back into place was a 2 man job as was lining the LCA and strut assembly holes. It just doesn't flex much so it helped to have a second set of hands to move things around or pry down on things. There is a Youtube video showing how to do it, in the video the guy is breathing heavy at the end.. we laughed because we thought he was being a pussy.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Installed a Toytec BOSS kit on a friends 2012 Tacoma last week and had to do the rear shocks today since they sent him the wrong shocks originally. Could not figure out why the shock would not fit in the lower mount, called Toytec and sent a picture while on the phone and immediately knew it was for a 4runner/FJ. I do need to give props to them for being easy to deal with and overnighting new shocks.

Finally got around to fabbing up a crossmember for Craig's crawl box. Made from 1/4" angle iron, 1/4" square tube, and 3/16" plate. Possibly overkill but it was all scrap I had laying around :)

The Miller on 220V sure makes a difference when burning in the thicker metals

Nice welds. No such thing as overkill. It just moved the weak link down the chain... Probably to the frame. :)

You make me want to buy a Miller 211 even more than I did before. They just make pretty pretty welds. Not saying you are not talented. But man those millers are just awesome at making the bacon sizzling noise. :)

Hey I'm no expert, just self taught back yard kinda fabbing, although I've been sweating pipes my whole life but welding is a difference concept. The miller makes it easy to lay down beads I've used several other machines but this one is so easy to dial in. It has the auto set feature but I've not used it, tried it maybe once or twice. Much easier to just read the machine, get to know it and make the fine adjustments. Too many variations for weld positions for the auto set to be effective IMO. The main seller for me on that machine was that is could be used for 110 or 220, and now that I've got 220 it's really sweet, but if I take it to a place that only has regular 110 outlets I just swap a plug and it still welds pretty damn nice, just have to do multiple passes on the thicker shit.

My dad has an old 210 (15 years old or so) and it lays down dimes awesome. I imagine the 211 makes it even better. It's on my list of purchases for 2016 for sure. My Lincoln 180 just doesn't dial in like the Miller does. I used a friends Miller 140 and it was fantastic. I was sold at that point. But again, your welds look fantastic. Not attributing it all to the machine. It still takes practice and skill. Kudos.

Thanks.

Yep the 210 and 211 are very similar in style, 210 had a little more juice. The 211 I have is the transformer based model and is fairly large. I believe in august of 2015 they stopped making them and now make an inverter based machine, it's smaller and about half the weight. Hopefully it is as good as the transformer based one, I'd have no reason to believe otherwise, Miller makes a damn nice product.

Right. I see the new one is inverter based but I hope it's as good a machine as the one you have. And I need to practice more. :)

If you get it you'll have to be sure to post some pictures of the beads, practice makes perfect. I still suck at 3G and 4G welds, maybe someday I will learn to make them look a little less boogery lol

I chopped off SecretSquirrel's sliders this past weekend. I'm gonna miss that truck. :( But I picked up his old RTT rack so now I'll be able to use my Annex for the Moab trip!

I keep debating getting a RTT but if I am going to lawschool in August that's a big expense. Now if I get money off this oil company soon then I will definitely get it cause why not lol.
