What have you done to someone else's ride lately?

I always appreciate getting more done with less (fuck - I was in the Marine Corps. Patron Saints of more with less) but at a point there is a lot to be said for using the best tools available.

I always seem to have more pride when I get tasks done without a ton of resources. Guess the harder the task the bigger pat on the back I give myself.

Reminds me of these little guys trying to make a living

My theory was to buy the best tools you can afford. Also work smarter not harder.

Why work like a negro when you don't have to? Hell they don't even work most of the times lol

No kidding. I plan to have a lift at my next house. I'm 27 and already have constant back and knee problems due to my job. A lift is a cheap investment compared to medical bills for surgeries after years of crawling around on the ground working on vehicles.

Yes no sense in bragging about how you "roughed" it changing oil or replacing a starter in the dirt outside. I'll take the pride in knowing I didn't work all these years to still be as poor as when I was 16 lol.

I now feel the pain for a few days after rolling under a vehicle trying to do work, not worth the pain or future problems like ya said, cost of medical is much greater than a little preparation in the beginning.

Replaced the HB, crank seal, serpentine belt, oil change and filter on greasy mf Cheby Maliboo.

I bought the parts and turned wrenches all for a good deed...

Really good kid that became an Eagle Scout and graduated from high school last year.

Good man! How did his dad pass on a camping trip.. that had to be traumatizing for all involved! I read that as he passed on the trip while out there.

His dad had cancer he wasn't with us on the trip, he was at home. Yeah it sucked though for all the boys and adults, because you just don't know when it's your time or a loved one.

I'm just glad the crank sensor didn't complain after using all that degreaser and putting it all back together.

Did you see my 'tips and tricks' for installing a front seal to keep it from weeping or leaking? :)

Yes, I already have known that, many GM motors come with RTV behind the crank bolt, this one was sealed like that, I just added to it and I also put grease in the inside of the seal for the O-spring.

I did more work to the car in labor hour value, than what the car is worth. He recently hit a deer, busted mirror, windshield front light etc, this car will be canned July 2019 the car also has hundreds of baseball size hail dents as well, so before his next inspection, he is currently keeping his eye out for a replacement. Those year models 1997-2003 Malibu's are complete junk, everything is falling off or breaking.
