Seriously though. If you need the SUV because of kids, you might as well get one with the 3rd row. Eventually, those kids will have friends that will need to ride with you, or you may have more kids. Sequoia, LC, LX are the only ones in the Toyota lineup that I would truly consider because they have some storage behind the 3rd row. We also considered an Expedition.
We went with the van because of the initial cost, the 5 year ownership cost and gas mileage.
When I think large SUV the only one I would go with is a diesel Excursion. They have lots of room, good mileage, and ride better than expected.
Yea, those are bad ass. Heavy but bad ass regardless.
Have you looked at the prices for used 7.3L excursions lately? You'll probably change your mind thenWhen I think large SUV the only one I would go with is a diesel Excursion. They have lots of room, good mileage, and ride better than expected.

Yeah we'll either get a BMW X5 (with the maintenance plan for sure, I ain't working on that car) or a Volvo XC90. But it'll be a little bit before we go buy one. For now, I want to enjoy the extra money in my bank account for a few months at least.X2 if your kids and fam are anything like my sisters. She has a Sequoia with 2 teenage boys & her husband and even needs a Yakima roof rack/ski rack/cargo rack thing on trips. Best part is she can't even park it in her garage - it's too long and too tall
and if you think a Tacoma gets bad MPG --------the Sequoya is much worse
