What have you done to someone else's ride lately?

So the carrier bearing swap went as it should have; but it still has a little vibration under 1500 rpm/ 25 mph. I am willing to bet that between me and the local stealership having the driveshaft apart four times in the last two years it is out of sync now. I did confirm the old carrier bearing had more than 1/2" of play in it before dropping the driveshaft. The next issue is that I saw the rear output shaft has some transmission fluid seepage. It is not enough to drip to the ground but enough to have a light rust-proof coat on the dust shield.

So I am going to call Ft Worth Toyota and see what they would charge to replace the old style single lip seal with the new style called out in TSB-0173-09. Then while they have the driveshaft down balance it again. They did me better than right on my 4Runner transmission so maybe they will not screw me on this one too.

I did the front brakes on my dads truck, damn rotors were seized to the hubs, I had to wait about 30min for the penetrating oil to absorb before I hammered the old rotors off.

Changed an O2 sensor on my friends Hyundai Veloster. It recently got a new engine under warranty and the dealer hacks didnt route the sensor wire properly and it was resting on the turbo and burned through. New sensor was about 8 inches too short on the wires so did some wire splicing, soldering, heat shrink and wrapping. Made them a little longer to route it better and it's no where near any heat source. And the old sensor was a huge PITA to break free.

Tell them not to get to excited, that's just the first of many engines lol

Two of my guys worked at Hyundai, they said that's all they did, and it was in that car.

Glad to know that tacomas aren't the only vehicle with a shitty LCA design. Helped a buddy change out LCAs on a 2007 cobalt. The bolt was frozen in the bushing sleeve, and worst of all the nut is a captive t-slot type nut that's mounted in a cage on the uni-body. Had to cut the old LCA out to be able to spin the bolt free, then pry up a tab to remove the encapsulated LCA nut. New bolt went in with plenty of anti-seize to prevent that from happening again hopefully.

Old bolt had rusted the entire threads away where it sits in the unibody :eeek:

I’ve gotta wash it first now it’s covered in dust lol

I am planning on starting working on it again soon. Actually just cleaned the spot up around the area to be able to even get to the damn thing haha. I am really just not looking forward to stripping and grinding the frame

Those are all on the list, not sure what order they will get done. After watching @Boomtacoma01 continue to take his to the next level makes me hesitant to even start mine for fear of upgrading during the middle of building it lol

Just pull the cab and weld up a roll cage to buggy it if you want to follow @Boomtacoma01 . Save you a lot of time, money and headache that way.

Helped my nephew fix his audio system in his Subaru. My other nephew helped him put it in.

The ground wasn't hooked up to the radio.
His RCA cables were too long and causing interference.
His antenna cable wasn't hooked up to the radio.
His sub wiring was loose.
The fuse was like 30" away from his battery. I cut the power wire down to 17" and reinstalled it.

So after all that, we got him going again. His little Subaru is wicked quick and a manual so it's fun to drive.
