So the carrier bearing swap went as it should have; but it still has a little vibration under 1500 rpm/ 25 mph. I am willing to bet that between me and the local stealership having the driveshaft apart four times in the last two years it is out of sync now. I did confirm the old carrier bearing had more than 1/2" of play in it before dropping the driveshaft. The next issue is that I saw the rear output shaft has some transmission fluid seepage. It is not enough to drip to the ground but enough to have a light rust-proof coat on the dust shield.
So I am going to call Ft Worth Toyota and see what they would charge to replace the old style single lip seal with the new style called out in TSB-0173-09. Then while they have the driveshaft down balance it again. They did me better than right on my 4Runner transmission so maybe they will not screw me on this one too.
