What have you done to your ride lately?

it also gets you on the way back in ~ That pin was fun to line up putting it back together. In your situation with an actual shop and lifts should be much easier. I was on my back and Kyle was driving the engine hoist as we mated them back up.

I think I'm going to take my dremel to both of those dowels while it's out and take a bit off so it makes for a slightly easier time, as well as anti seizing both of them. Never understood why the alignment pins had to have such close tolerance. Hopefully it's easier going back up, time will tell. I found the P/N for the rear main seal last night so going to call and see if I can place an order this morning or if it'll be cheaper to order online

no the passenger side bends around the back of the transfer case and combines at a flange into a single in single out blow master super 40

Good news is you can't screw it up. Once it fell into place I put a finger tight bolt on and breathed a sigh of relief. Thats also because I was shitting a brick after we tried to install it earlier in the day and the oil pan was smackin the diff. I had no clue 4x4's had a more offset pan and my donor was a 2x.

interesting, didn't know of the pan difference either. I priced out the oil seal so looks like I'll be ordering the SST and seal online, another week out. Oh well, if you ever need to replace your rear main seal I'll have the tool now lol

Yea, At first I crapped myself and was like "did I buy the wrong engine" then I remembered I ran the serial numbers and it was the right engine.

After a little pondering we simply swapped oil pans and walla - it fit.

Tell you one thing - that OE pan gasket material is good at it's job. We had a heck of a time prying and cutting it off w/o damaging it.

Something about 3 CYL per exhaust just seems unamerican. Hell even my F350 only has a single 4" exhaust. I guess I just don't care about mufflers too much

Yeah...that might be a little weird.

Starter swap is done. Once I agreed to remove UCA it came out without an issue. Apparently the stock UCA and the Camburg UCA have about 1/2" - 3/4" outside diameter differences that makes a huge difference in this process. Also picking up the Milwaukee M12 ratchet yesterday was a really good idea. There were two bolts that were almost impossible without extensions and swivels - except I just put a deep well socket on the Milwaukee ratchet and it was done.
