What have you done to your ride lately?

No, but I am doubtful there is enough out there to use a winch. I do have the traction boards riding with me though.
There's only one place and I've lightened my load and I don't have one either. Skid plates, good tires, sliders and fuel and we should be good.
LMFAO!!! Yeah.. <walks away kicking a can> :)

If he is following Roger they will be going to fast to need a winch. Momentum will carry them through or over anything.

Ordered the shift kit today. It supposed to be here next week sometime. Once it gets here I'll pull the valvebody out of my trans and take it up to work on my next rotation of nights and get it all setup. Never torn in to a transmission before so I'm a little nervous. But it seems extremely straightforward so hopefully it wont be too bad.

I'm in a Firestone right now to get my front end aligned - I must be down to about $5 per alignment. ...here I certainly get what I pay for! lol

Yeah they're ability to properly align a vehicle is definitely lacking. But still glad I picked up the lifetime alignment for my truck. Especially when it was eating tie rods every 10k miles and everytime I wheeled it. Hopefully since I rebuilt the entire front end this time, that issue will be gone. Guess I need to go wheel it to find out.

So right now I am about to tear into the front end. I'm certainly hoping that swapping out the CV and the wheel bearing solves my issue but if it doesn't I have a good friend that says he has a complete front diff with 4.56s and an ARB. :) Not that I want to smell like gear oil but I do want to make it to my happy place Monday. :)

I would love to blame Firestone but I think the real culprit is something other than a shoe salesman turned Hunter tech.

How often do you have to swap out wheel bearings? Pretty sure it cannot have anything to do with the desert racing? lol

Finished fabbing up a quick battery restraint/ box and waiting on the paint to dry before heading into town to pick up the last things I need for this trip to a happy place.

About every 3 years. :) That's why on long trips I carry a spare. :) This CV is probably about 8 years old.

At least it is an easy job to swap out on the 2nd gen Tacoma. On my 3rd gen 4Runner it requires a full spindle tear down and press work to swap the bearings. I will probably do mine this summer and do some maintenance work at the same time.

So glad I chased all those threads! EZ PZ. Just glad it ended up being interference with my new spindles and a couple of wheel weights. Nothing a wheel spacer doesn't cure. :)

I've never messed with transmissions either. Interested to hear what you have to say about it

@tx_shooter said it wasnt too bad. Just drilling out a couple hole bigger and replacing some springs. He just said to make sure to use 1/4" drive tools when putting it back together because everything is aluminum and over tightening it can really fuck stuff up. I dont expect it to be too bad.

I had to put the Subaru on the trickle charger so she would crank over this morning. Gotta grab a new battery today for sure.

Wonderful timing - really kicking myself in the arse for not swapping it months ago when this happened the first time. I let my cheapness override my gut/common sense and that worked out great in the end lol

How's the Tacoma coming along?

Rusting out just great lol

Time to put the Subaru in the shop now. The Yota will be at the dealer before the warranty expires for sure. Already though I missed it twice - there will not be a third
