What have you done to your ride lately?

I do in all my buses/transits, but thats what's suggested by factory just like this one. I have to run what's recommended for warranty.
I have a friend that runs our local county bus depot. He says that he thinks some of that is so they have to re-engine more often! lol

... I hear you loud and clear.

You're probably right, especially out in CA. Hell, they will be all electric or hydrogen soon enough

Oh you probably know the silly money that they are spending on that very thing. Brown outs are a very real thing now. Just wait til we're all electric. - I'd love to see the real cost of H too.

I have a spare bedroom... we can work on the cul-de-sac later. :headbang:

Yet another thing I hadn't considered when thinking about all this "all cars will be EV by 20XX" nonsense.

When we were in TX, seemed like every summer they did rolling blackouts where we'd be without power for 30 minutes at a time. Sometimes multiple times a day. The reasoning was that the power grid was overtaxed and couldn't handle the demand coupled with we can't produce enough electricity to keep up with the demand. Imagine an area like DFW going through that and then you add everyone trying to charge their EV.

In the most sarcastic voice possible: "Yeah, that's going to be a good thing."

Yep. That was during the summer. But don't forget about last winter when people couldn't get power restored to their homes and therefore couldn't heat them.

....at least they could go run the car and generate some heat....oh, wait.

What actually did crack me up is all the people who have solar, but didn't think to invest in the home battery storage options. You know, the ones who just put back into the grid to offset their usage. Sure, that can be a good investment when the grid is up....but with no battery storage, their solar energy was being "stolen" by the grid to do essentially nothing. So they weren't even able to enjoy the benefits of it when power was out.

Took my FrontRunner rack off back in July so I could fit my 4Runner in the garage. I've been lazy about getting it back on and my dad had shoulder surgery so he couldn't exactly help me lift it back onto the roof. It's just been sitting outside his shop for the last few months. Well, last night he forgot it was there and backed the trailer over it. Luckily it only bent one of the foot rails. So I don't have to buy a whole new rack for $1600 but I still have to buy a pair of new rails for $400. But it'll have to wait until after the first of the year. Between paying for wedding and honeymoon stuff, I'm tapped out for a while.

I ordered some terminal covers for my dual battery setup a while ago and finally got around to installing them. Not that I needed them it's been like this for almost 10 years now but a little extra insulation can't hurt being that these are unfused straight from the battery :) . I crammed that ML-ACR in there so it's kind of a bitch getting to it, hope a fuse in the engine bay box never blows lol

What happened to the engine already?!?!
There was an issue with the piston ring design on the 2015.5 motors (which they caught and fixed by the time the 2016 models came out). They had a recall on them and mine finally qualified for the engine rebuild or replacement.

That's Mr Asshole to you
When I worked at Oreilly in high school a lady pulled up in a Volvo. Older with the 5cyl. She said it was overheating so she added water and its still doing it. Go out and look. She shoved a garden hose into the crankcase till water spilled out.
Pushed it to the shop next door and after 2 oil changes it was running like a top.
