I really didn't want to dive down that rabbit hole again. Also smaller tires should provide a touch better MPG and a little more performance.

I've heard 285/70/17 won't fit under the 4th gens. But I've also heard they won't fit under 5th gens and mine does so who knows...

I had to cut out the metal supports to fit a 285/70/17 underneath my 2nd gen Tacoma (before I had my swingout bumper).

Pretty much given up on a 1st gen Tundra at this point. They're all beat to shit, have 250k+ miles, or are rusted to shit. Went and looked at a 2015 F150 Ecoboost today after my doctor appointment. Going to give them a call tomorrow and see if we can make a deal on it.

Meh, they're still outdated. This thing needs a new headunit bad. I'll replace it with something that has Android Auto at some point. Probably knock out some of the smaller things on my list of upgrades/addons first. Can't believe the tailgate damper wasn't stock on every truck back then. $60 worth of parts.
