What have you done to your ride lately?

So the neighbors across the street at putting in a pool. Last Friday was gunite day, winds were blowing like crazy and it was cold as shit. Anyhow, I came out around 3:30 to go pick up my kid from school... notice the gunite truck across the street and the billowing dust flowing out of it... and drifting right across the street onto my truck. I was ready to kill everyone over there. I went and picked up the kid, came back and went to talk to someone. What a fucking joke.. should have just called INS. Anyhow, got ahold of the builder... same dude that built our pool. He says they can take care of it.. let the gunite guys fix it. FUCK THAT! Uh no, not a fucking chance. He says the gunite company owner said he would pay to have it detailed. So on Sunday I had my guy come out and do it. It had rained Friday night so it was like little concrete chunks all over the truck. But he did a great job.

You should have went for a ride instead. Although I did kill some time washing my 4Runner today. I know it was the best car wash in the area because I was the only cracker there.

Shit they both needed it, but the Triumph really did it was filthy. The wind was gusting 15-20 all day, that's takes all the joy out of riding for me. Hopefully tomorrow is nicer. I did get to ride to work twice last week.

Fixed the ground wire on the family trailer. The eyelet was the only non-exterior rated connection I used when I re-wired the trailer and it failed within a year or so. So I ordered a marine rated eyelet set and replaced it.

Also rotated the tires as well.

Did the connector trail between the main road and Northwest corner. The east Boch-something trail is serious about the 4x4 part. Small puncture with a tear was the first thing I found. Plug kit won't seal.

And that damn driver side rear axle seal is leaking already.

Speaking of tire issues. Noticed a screw in the right rear tire on the Expedition. I was about 3 minutes from Discount Tire and about 20 minutes from home. Figured I'd rather have them take it out anyway since they patch for free. It was raining, so I dropped my wife and kids off at the mall to use the indoor playground and went over to DT.

They had a missed appointment and pulled the Expedition in immediately. Screw didn't go all the way through. Had them balance all 4 since I was there already and had been wanting to get them to do that for some time. Could not have been in and out any faster.

That’s good to hear. I’m always hesitant of tire repair places. I put a plug in myself if I’m able but obviously a patch is better.

It was toward the outer tread block, so I was half concerned that they were going to tell me they couldn't repair it. I have a plug kit in the back of both vehicles, so I was prepared to plug it in front of them....in the rain. Very glad that wasn't the outcome.

Furthering the "what have you done to your ride" but staying on topic with the Expedition. Changed the oil last night. It has just enough room for me to crawl under. A 2" lift would make working under it sufficiently nicer, but my wife won't go for that. I may pick up some of those rhino ramps for future oil changes.

Was supposed to go to Tulsa today to buy a 1st gen Tundra but the guy stopped responding and removed the ad so I'm guessing he sold it to someone else. But found one much closer and this one is 4wd instead of 2wd so I'm going this evening to check it out. If it's half as clean as it looks in the pictures, I'll be bringing it home.

You could probably make a killing on that 4runner in this market.

Yeah I'll do pretty good on it. Need to get an inspection, change the oil, and get a new windshield put in before I sell. And decide if it's worth putting the FrontRunner rack back on.

Looks like passenger side seal leaking too. Going to add some fluid tonight and keep an eye on it. Thankfully the drive home is pretty level so I know it will keep some fluid in it.

Guess I will assume I installed the seals wrong/poorly last year.
