Dropped my truck off for Sean(neighbors grandson)to use, while I test driving his truck thats for sale; 03, dodge 2500, 5.9 coal roller today, may have it again tomorrow as, since the dodge guro expert mechanic that I know had to take his son to the hospital this morning.

Later this evening this truck will be testing out the weight of a skidsteer and trailer.

I wish they would bring back foot controls on skid steers. I hate the joysticks.

I was at the dealer this morning picking up some parts, I didn't know this, but you can still order the wheeled Kubota skidsteers with foot controls.

Looks good! don’t know what the weight of that machine is but I believe above 10k requires 4 separate tie down points.
Looks like the machine is 9,314# per google fu.

The fact that he chained it down in the first place is plus lol People don't GAF when they tow down here as DOT is too busy pulling over 18 wheelers for BS tickets to boost their revenue.

True story, I've towed our heavy ass booming fork lift all over town with no fucking straps

And yes I know it requires 4 chain binders, I was out on farm to market roads yesterday, there are only 54 residents in this town.

Which truck are you trading off for this Dodge?

Nothing, but maybe a little bit of my pride.. lol but seriously there are a few years that dodge put together good power platforms, there are also other years/models you don't want to touch them, even with some shit on da end of the stick.

My oldest boy is heading off to college next month, his first semester I don't plan on giving him transportation and my youngest son got his learners permit this summer. Most likely my oldest boy will use my Taco next Spring and beyond. Which still leaves me to purchase another vehicle for the younger one.

They have never built an auto transmission worth a fuck, I sure hope that one's a manual.

Can concur about the transmission.

I had a 2001 Dakota RT.. thing was fun to drive in anything but the rain. @60k miles the trans took a shit. Drained it, threw in some transmagic fluid or whatever... traded it in while it still moved.

X2...97 with a 318, trans was starting to take a dump at 40k and so was the rear end lol

Unfortunately it's not.
Well just plan to have it rebuilt every 100k and a new rear end every 150-200 if you are actually gonna use it for its intended purpose. Only reason Dodge/Ram are still treading water is thanks to Cummins. Luckily for you it's not a gasser or that would shit out by 100k. Good luck

You will be fine. You are not towing heavy. Now when you buy that triple axle gooseneck and the mini-excavator and are hauling both the skid steer and the mini-ex at the same time. :)

Just a reminder, Blake is not buying this truck, lol

Had a fun filled day of vehicle maintenance yesterday and today. Glad to get everything done at the same time so all the vehicles are fresh.

Haven’t driven the Tacoma much since the previous oil change, and the BMW even less. The oil coming out of the Bimmer still looked golden!
