F250 threw an error code up on the dash today. It read "Adaptive Steering Fault. Service Required". Call the local Ferd dealer, was planning to drop it off this afternoon since the fucks need to hold it for 4-5 days before they can get to it. WTF? Anyhow, also did some Googlizing to see what it was. Majority of folks that had it had their steering wheel replaced... to the tune of a $2500 new steering wheel. But also noted that many were showing the error code details and it came down to low voltage. Some said battery. Well my batteries are over 3 years, old school style, not AGM and I don't drive it much so its possible they shit. Anyhow, threw on the charger for each battery. Fired it up and error message was gone, drives fine. Went to Costco at lunch and it drove fine. Did notice that one of the batteries was a little wet around the positive post. Anyhow, ordered 2 new group 65 AGM batteries from Batteries Plus (X2 Power). They will be here tomorrow so fingers crossed that fixed it.
Also had low windshield washer fluid, I fixed that when I checked on the batteries.
