I really dislike buying new tires! Several years ago they said the cost of tires went up because oil was $100 a barrel.. well shit its $35 a barrel and they went up more!! Greedy ass mother fuckers.. I hope the CEO of BFG gets jock itch... in this throat!

BFG dealer tire mark up over here is about $73 per tire as of the last time I bought a few years ago. $243 was lowest I could find. Pretty sure if I remember correctly I ended up paying $180 per tire through a friend of a friend who had a dealer account. We gave him $10 cash per tire and got (10) 255/85/16 KM2's so he made a quick hundred bucks for 15 minutes work taking our money from our hands into the discount tire warehouse.
What size are you going with?

As for tires look at the Hankook Dynapro MT tires. I am going with them probably in November.

Accomplished a lot this weekend. I moved the cab back on the frame 2" and moved the engine back the same amount. This created more room for the upper link on the drivers side and more room for the 42s at the firewall.
Uppers are now in. Cut down my 3rd link and made a new one. 2"x.25" DOM should work.
Trans mount inspired from the Jim's Garage buggies. Atlas will still have the TMR tail support off of the rear link crossmember. The crossbar will serve as some of the structure for my seat mounts.
I tied into the adapter as well.
Motor mounts are simple. I reused my rock tactics LS mounts.
Now that the drivetrain is mounted, I started on the tube work. Got a few tubes in last night then called it. More to come later this week.
Also sold the 43s and picked up some new kicks for the squirrel.

Lots of nice work going on with that rig. I like the build on wheels idea.

Ordered new OEM inner & outer tie rods. Also ordered polyurethane steering bushings from Wheelersoffroad as well as a 1/2" spacer for my Taco lean (I have a really bad lean).
And I got a new CV rebuild kit from SDHQ as well as a CV bandage boot for when it blows out again offroad.
I plan on taking both sides brakes off, inner & outer tie rods, drivers side CV shaft, and then the steering rack. Then reinstalling in the reverse order. Hopefully this way I can get a lot done at one time. I doubt I'll finish it in one weekend.
But my steering is really sloppy and needs to be fixed.

They use the 930 boots which are supposed to be stronger and more flexible (time will tell). They are also cheaper than OEM and I'll just use my grease instead.

I think I pay $45 for the OEM. Personally I like the harder stuff on the outside since most of the wear I think of is between the ribs. I wonder if they are ribbed for... Oh wait.

Hankook DynaPro MT 235/85/16 mounted today. They are just tall enough to throw off my speedometer a little. I noticed my GPS speed was 72.4 mph while my dash was showing 70. I will check it better on the way to Bridgeport tomorrow. The 4Runner does seem to handle easier with the thinner tires on it.

Keep them rotated and you will get a ton of miles on them.
Thanks. I am shooting to get at least 40,000 miles out of these tires. Like you said; keeping them rotated will help extend the mileage.

Nice! I got 29k out of my KM2's. They probably had about another 5k miles left on them. They were not at the wear bars but they wouldn't have done me much good off-road.
