Bronco comes out in 2020 and Dana announced a contract for the front axles.
Did they confirm it was a solid axle? Dana also makes IFS suspensions as well...

I had an expensive Pinata yesterday! lol Suspended it off the tree and backed the truck up underneath it to put it back on. I also installed the new strap bracing that CVT gave me awhile back as replacement parts. I am hoping this coming weekend isn't as cold/windy as this weekend.

It is not a war crime the first time.

Hopefully this will be a good thing for the off roading market as a whole. Jeep could use some solid axle competition and there is a huge aftermarket for Dana axles ready to sell upgrades for those weak 30s.

Ordered some new parts to rebuild the uniballs on my Camburg UCA's. They've been through hell and back already. The other day I noticed some chipping on the bottom uniball so it's time to service them.

Im back offshore in Ghana for 3-4 more weeks and am bored so id figure i would post up where i left off.

I added gussets to everything i thought was necessary and got started to get the chassis ready to some paint. And of course i then had to go back offshore.

Anywho, i ran in to a problem while adding gussets. I mocked everything up with short bolts and when it came time to use the right bolts for the links, they were too long. So this was my solution. A frenched piece of 1.75" dom half tube. bolt now goes in as its supposed to. NOTE: Always plan ahead.

Ill be doing some research on steering columns while offshore just in case i cant figure out a way to use the factory steering column. I want the orbital outside of the firewall since i always seem to end up hydraulic leaks and to have that between my legs left me with a not so good feeling.

to be continued....

So I have started to do the re-wiring of the Taco. First step was to get the new fuse blocks in place. One for interior accessories will be under drivers seat and controlled via a 100 amp relay that is switched. But there will nowhere near 100 amps of power being pulled through it. Second one is under hood for constant power items, not a whole lot of those so a 6 gang block with 6 ground points will be plenty. Its on top the battery mount but I'll use Delphi weatherpak connectors to allow me to unplug them if I need to pull the battery. Also managed to cut out about 30" of the ARB harness to make it cleaner (no loops). Next steps will be to tackle each item for constant power and then tackle the interior items (gives me high blood pressure thinking about it).

I used nutserts to hold the fuse block under the seat in place. Connector is hydrocrimped to the wire and heatshrinked for protection.

Battery tray.. note I will be redoing that wire running to the Kicker fuse block on the top.

Locker compressor wired up and working. I managed to scratch the Compressor switch cover letting amber light shine at the bottom. Need to get a flat black paint pen to cover it up. Tried a sharpie and its not perfect.. might just get a new switch cover if I give that many shits.

Some test with the heat shrink labels. ARB Compressor will not be hooked up here, just for test.

I figure it will be easier to troubleshoot issues later. Since I wired this thing one item at a time it all works, but the wiring looks like dog shit (giving dog shit a bad name probably) so troubleshooting anything was near impossible. This way I'll have every end labeled and I even have a spreadsheet of what each wire does!! Saved that fucker to my tablet along with every manual for the various components in the truck. Should, in theory, make fixing shit easier. I had hoped to get a little more done tonight but my kid (1st grade) had 2+ hours of homework an I cut it short! I am just playing with the labeler now printing out labels for the constant power fuse block. Saving them for later.

Yeah on my tablet I have the owners manual of pretty much every thing I own that has an owners manual that I may need. TV's, BluRay players, Receivers, speakers, any kitchen item to include appliances, anything electrical in the truck... tools.. Guns...

Reinstalled my rebuilt Icon Hydrobump last night. I forgot how tight of a fit that was. It was a bitch getting it back in.

Started to run rewire all the constant power items under the hood. These fucking weatherproof connectors are a mofo to get crimped. They require a stupid $$ barrel crimper that runs about $400. I was just going to crimp to insulation and solder but that failed.. partially due to my eyesight these days. Sucks because I fucked up some pins so I had to order some new ones. Soo... weatherpack connector will be added when its all complete (I'll just cut the wires and install). Anyhow, only managed to get one circuit wired at this point. Might get one more done today but I'm not pushing it. Also noticed in the photo that I need to hit those heatshrink labels one more time towards the bottom with some heat.

Got a wild hair and figured out a place to mount my forward facing camera (headunit has 3 video inputs, front/rear/and AV in).. so this will go to the front obviously. Main concern was keeping it behind the bumper face.. but is tilted down just a bit and I can see right in front of the truck. Wiring for now is just loomed up and ready to pop through into the cab. Once I do the rear and other cameras I will wire them all up, this way I only have to pull the headunit once. I also need to get a large cresent wrench on that mount and tilt it a couple degrees.. it tilted on me during welding.. camera is pretty square but not perfect. A little tweak will fix it.
